2.       过分强调传统将会导致固执顽固不化和思想狭隘
3.       现代化在现代人生活中有着不可替代的作用
The author advocates that one must choose between the incompatible tradition and modernization. I disagree with the author for the reason that we can call for a balance between them.

First, the tradition is important for most of the tradition is the heritage of a nation or a certain group , we should never abandon it. For instance, the essence of the traditional Chinese culture has an emphasize on the respect to the old and love one's parents, which is still crucial today ,though modernization has influenced almost the whole country. We cannot say this culture is not important and thus we should not be good to the old, just for the reason of moderlization.

Second, over tradition will make one a stubborn  and not open-minded one.A good example is  the story of Van Gogh who was good at drawing abstract articles, but just because of the tradition is on the opposite side. Van Gogh's whole life's paintings were not treated fairly until many years after his death. But if the people of that time could pay more attention to  Van Gogh's new kind of article, which stood for the modern way of drawing in his time, he might give the world much more contribution in this area instead of dying in despire and poor. This indicates that over-tradition makes one stand on the opposite side of the modernization, which will do harm to the newly come out things.

Third, modernization is also crucial for it indicates the pace of the human beings civilization. Everything around the current society has  a record of the process of develop from the ancient to  today.  For example, the lamp ,which uses the electricity today, was just a candle or a lighted  wood in the ancient times. Just as the development of the human kinds ,the convenience brought by the lamp is never a imagination, it is a existing thing around us , which has an inplaceable postion in today's society. Thus ,we cannot drop it in our choosing process.

In conclusion, the issue that we must choose between tradition and modernization call for a balance between them.Both the traditonal thing ,deeply rooted in our minds, and the modern affair, deeply affected our lives, are crucial and has inevitablly come into ourlives, so we cannot abandon any of them.
