According to the title statement, all countries should provide help to a global university whose purpose is to solve the world's most persistent social problems. While I agree that a global university would bring benefits to all nations, I insist that this may cause a lot of problems and there are many other ways to solve these problems.

Admittedly, a global university would help to solve some social problems that are common to all nations. While a university of a certain country may not have enough money or research ability to solve some difficult problems, a global university can be competent to shoulder these tasks due to supports from all the nations. For example, when faced with the problem of cloning, a global university can use its advantages in the most advanced biological research ability of the world as well as diverse cultures and moral ideas from different countries. Thus, it will probably more effective in solving these problems. Another problem lies in the global university is the protection of the environment. Pollution and global worming has become important social problems and more and more affect people's lives. Only by the efforts from every country can the measures enacted be more adaptive and effective.

However, there may be many problems in founding such a university. Since people are from all parts of the world and their beliefs, ideas and cultural background are quite different. There may be political, cultural and economical conflicts. For example, in the research of how to reign and administer a country, there may be severe conflicts between scholars from democratic countries and autocratic countries. And they can hardly accomplish a compromise. Besides these conflicts of ideas and cultural backgrounds, the conflicts concerning every country's interests may be acuter. While countries with developed tourism industry embrace the protection of the global environment, undeveloped countries may advocate a priority in developing the economy. Since professors as well as students harbor quite different opinions due to the reasons mentioned above, they tend to compete rather than collaborate, the professors are more difficult to conduct a research and the students to fulfill their study. And a feasible decision to a certain issue may be raised with hardship.

On the other hand, there are ways rather than establishing a global company to deal with these persistent social problems. For example, the problem of pollution can be solved by the government and laws. Based on the situation of the nation, considering the experience before, we can solve these problems step by step. Further, to choose and communicate with a nation which has the similar situation would be more helpful than the effects of a global university.

In conclusion, a global university may be helpful in solving some persistent social problems. However it may not be efficient because of diversity of ideas and interest. And there are other ways to solve these problems. Therefore, we should choose the method based on certain occasions.
