Alone with the development of the world, the field of historical inquiry has made significant achievements. There raise a question that whether such achievements have guidance and benefit to the completely new and complex today. Concerning this issue, I am prone to claim that looking back of the history can also offer solutions to the problems today, or at least bring inspirations, though sometimes such inspirations can not be detected by the public.

To begin with, to obtain a knowledge of the effect of looking back of the past, we need to trace the kernel of historical study. The most essential meaning for studying history lies in that it can make approximately accurate descriptions and records or important events, rather than give direct guidance to the people. In other words, if regardless the ways how people apply the results of history studies, the work of the historians is no more than recorder or typewriter of events. Ostensibly, the point that little guidance for living in the present is provided by history study seems true. However, it is just the applications by the people that endows these inquiries with indispensable meaning of guiding behaviors today. And the reasons for my claim lie in two aspects as follows.

In the first place, there are still many similar phenomena with those of the past, as a result, the use of the achievement of historical researches can set example for today's solutions. And naturally the effect can be divided into two aspects: experience from success of the past, and lessons drawn from failure of our ancestors, both of which are equally able to provide guidance for our present lives. An illustrating example, on the one hand, involves in the heroic stories of ancient Chinese going against invasion of other race of countries. The braveness and the spirit of loving the motherland of our ancestors remains the same for us to inherit till today when we face certain kind of attempt to place interference upon the sovereignty. On the other hand, the people today should absorb the lessons drawn from the ruining of Babylon, which once was admired as one of the four countries with developed civilization, that over foresting might seriously destory the living environment for both the animals and the human themselves. In consequence, looking back for similar experience and lessons from the past can give direct instruction to behave today.

In the second, albeit that some events or achievement in history are not directly related to the promotion of life today, careful study upon such events and achievement also brings us inspiration to handle some certain phenomenon. Consider, for example, though the study of civilization of ancient China we can find numerous brilliant discoveries and inventions, which even at present still deserve admiration. Though the real the ways that ancients Chinese used have been already deserted and many new methods perform better, the kernel of thinking that led to such strikingly significant achievements could also inspire the people today to promote the development of modern technologies. While, such inspiration might, to much extent, is not detected by people, thus, some individuals might declare that the solutions are all derived from their own intelligence. However, they omit the function that they resort to the result from history study.

In brief, looking back of the past is not of little guidance for living in the present, rather, besides the effect of recording historical events, the historical studies are able to both give direct guidance to behave today and hint the people to find solutions to the present problems.

There (This?) raises a question that (这个that在这里做什么成分?似乎可以不用) whether such achievementshave guidance and benefit to the completely new and complex today(虽然today可以做名次，不过一般用作修饰，比如today's life, today's issue).Concerning this issue, I am prone to claim that looking back of (有没有look back of 的说法？look back on?) thehistory can also(still, also用在这里不妥，只有前面讲过一个offer solutions to today's problem, 再讲looking back是另一个solution时，是并列关系才用also；现在要表达的逻辑是，论题说不需要looking back，而你要说looking back仍然有用，这是一个转折关系) offer solutions to the problems today, or at leastbring inspirations, though sometimes such inspirations can not bedetected by the public.

2. The next step you may pay more attention on your logic: the global logic that organizes the topic sentences accross the whole article; as well as the local logic that organizes your sentences, i.e. the accordance between the subject and the object, the transitional words, etc.
3. If you are not sure about the meaning of one word, I suggest using some simple words.
4. It is true that making sentence long would sometimes better than short, but not too long and too complex.
5. Some sentences read Chinese english, whose Chinese words makes sense while its english translation is not the same spirit. I suggest you preparing your topic sentences in English.
