51 - "Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."

The speaker asserts that education can come into effect only if it is specifically designed to satisfy the personal interest and needs of each student. I fundamentally agree with the speaker’s point that specifically designed education will be beneficial to students to some extent in that it not only gives a passion for studying but also takes advantage of every specific person.

In the first, the education that specifically fits each individual student makes them more passionate to put themselves into study. Interest always plays a considerable part in our study for that every people is intend to do something he/she is interested in and also gives us the power and determination to face and conquer difficulties in front of us as well. For example, Beethoven, one of the greatest composers and musicians, created many symphonies. Astonishingly, he produced his most famous symphony, Chorus, with complete deafness. With out a great interest and enthusiastic pursuit in music, could he manage that in spite of no hearings? Absolutely not. It is the same in education that only we studying what we like can we really put all ourselves in it.

As well as positivity in study, specifically designed education also takes best advantage of each specific individual and let he/she be at his/her best. Everyone has his/her own advantages and must be good at certain fields. If education could meets that certain individual needs, students may achieve further progress even outstanding. On the contrary, if people are forced to do what he/she is not good at or interested in, it is possible that the confidence would be lost and no achievement could be made. An excellent writer may not solve out complicated maths problem; An outstanding artist is most probably unable to operate a high-tech machine; A silver-tongued lawyer would by no means has capacity to give an operation on injured person. These are sufficient to illustrate that everyone would be adept in certain field and education which meet different individual's specific needs would probably enlarge their certain achievement.

Admittedly, there is no denying that overemphasizing the importance of personal interest and needs in education maybe lead students into a narrow lane and make them miss an overall picture of the world. Interested subjects are indeed worthy efforts, while general study also should not be ignore since different subjects can give a  support and mutual improvements to our most interested subject and may cause better results in certain field. Many famous individuals make achievements more than in one specific field. Consider Leonardo da Vinci, for example. He is usually viewed as a great painter creating many paintings such as Mona Lisa, by the world. However, he is an architect, musician, anatomist, inventor, engineer, sculptor, geometer as well. All these fields are relevant to each other more or less so that the combined wisdom from different fields achieve that greatness. From Leonardo’s instance we can see that how a vital role different subjects play in one person's achievement. As a result, while emphasizing the personal interest and needs in education , we should not overlook a comprehensive study.

To sum up, education will indeed be effective when our individual needs and interests are satisfied for that under such a circumstance we will be more passionate and may manage further achievements in our fields.  While interest is highly viewed, an overall study is important at the same time because it would offer mutual improvements and give us an overall view.
