Longman mini 1 integrated writing

The lecture does not agree with decision from the reading material which wants to increase the number of compulsory courses from three to five. The lecture believes that the students of this department may not be willing to accept because of some reasons.

The crucial reasons can be seen is that many students who have already learnt two years in this department will complain of the new policy. The reading material wants to force students to learn the courses offered by the department, but the opinions from lecture do not think it a good idea. Because this new policy is not figured out by the university but the faculty of department, the students do not like to follow it and the department has no right to force the students to do so.

Another reason is that there are three required courses and five optional courses for the students, instead of five required coures and three optional course. As for the former policy, students can have more time after school, but the latter will cause little spare time. In this case, students will feel great pressure and hate the new policy.

To improve the students' expertise and experience, the lecture suggest the faculty recommend the students to select the extra courses instead of requiring them to do so.

What is your approach to problem-solving, and how does it work for you. Use specific details to support your response.

It is universally agreed that everyone may confront difficutlies and suffer from obstacles. Different people may choose different ways to solve problems. In my point of view, I will first try my best to deal with it, or ask for help from fiends otherwise.

As for myself, the crucial approach to problem-solving is to trust myself. To be brave and confident is very important, as everyone should firstly depends on himself/herself. Ourselves is the major factor that detemine whether we can overcome obstacles. I clearly remember an experience when I was a high middle school student living in a small village of countryside. Everyday I had to cross a wooden bridge over a stream to go to school. However that bridge was destroyed by flood when it was heavily rainy one day. Facing this problem, I was very nervous at beginning because I might not go back home after school. But after a consideration, I decided to swim across the stream although the water flowed very rapid and danger threatened me all the time. I trust myself,and I believe I can do it. Eventually, I succeeded to reach the opposite bank and did not drown. After that I am always self-confident whatever obstacles and difficulties beset me.

Another important factor that I usually consider is help from friends. Friendship sometimes is essencial to whether I will be successful or not. It is true that in some cases capability of ourselves is not enough to overcome difficulties. In this sense, nothing is more important than others' help. When I was on graduation from college as an undergraduate student, I was preparing for the entrance examination for further study. However, the university that I wanted to apply for is not my original one, which means I must collect a large amount of information before application. Thanks for my friend who was studying in that university. He spared no effort to help me with information collection, such as how many students some professor would recruit. With his help, I get the admission from this university successfully. So friends' help is also useful.

In sum, when I confront some problems, I usually firstly make great effort and encourage myself to deal with it. Meanwhile I also ask for help from friends if it is useful.

The reading passage introduces what are the deindividual group and polarized group, with some examples presented. The listening passage introduced more examples to elaborate the two conceptions.

As for deindividual group, people always lose their individualilty and self-awareness, and they behave within the group that they would never do individually. They tend to pose social behavior and antisocial behavior may somtimes happen. They are even not antisocial. They usually share emotional pain. One example is those who are taking a exciting contest. They must collaborate with each other.

As for the polarized group, they are more likely to arrive at decisions that are far more extreme than any individual in the group. People in this kind of group do not approach social behavior. For instance, the town council usually go on as this type. The person in charge of the council may come up with overwhelming proposal and make a decision for the group. Another example is a group of employees that suffer a strict, arbitrary, and virulent boss. The boss may not consider the emplyees' ideas or suggestions.

LZ主要讲了新政策如果颁发后老生的反应,但并没有强调对于新生的强制要求,我个人觉得这也是一个重点。

Another important factor(觉得这里用factor不合适) that I usually consider is help from friends. Friendship sometimes is essencial to whether I will be successful or not. 总体来讲,LZ的思路很敏捷,限时内思路依然很清晰

我听的是pro-social behavior) and antisocial behavior may somtimes happen. They are even not antisocial. They usually share emotional pain. One example is those who are taking a exciting contest. They must collaborate with each other. (??有讲?
)

As for the polarized group, they are more likely to arrive at decisions that are far more extreme than any individual in the group. People in this kind of group do not approach social behavior.
