Throughout the developing of our country, many great historical events happen and change the way of moving on. Obviously, every event devotes to the development of our life and society. But I think the historical event has had a major effect on our country is resuming College Entrance Exam in 1977.

During the "revolution of culture" period, from 1967 to 1977, College Entrance Exam is prohibited. As a result, people who enter in university and college possibly only have the knowledge of middle school or even primary school. And they can enroll school just because of their so-called hard work but not true enthusiasm of knowledge and security of science. At the other hand, younger who really want achievement in science could not have the opportunity of learning. With the ending of "revolution of culture", College Entrance Exam was renewed at the first time by the support of both government and society. And this has greatly changed the destiny of society and citizens.

In the first place, the exam becomes the turning point of many people. During the special period lasting almost ten years, many students who are eager to science and technology have no chance to achieve their dream after graduation from high school or even not. But we all know that the knowledge gained from high school could not satisfy their needs in searching science, and let alone to be scientists. Take my father as an example, after his graduation from high school, he went his hometown and tried to be a farmer. But he could not fight against his enthusiasm in mathematics, which is why he always bought books about mathematics. But without helps of professors and experts, he would not search it in right way easily. It is because resuming the exam my father could enter university and chase his dream there. And now, my father is a teacher of mathematics and transmitting his knowledge to young students. Without the change of resuming exam, he might be a simple farmer and had already forgot his dream when he was young.

In addition, this event is a huge milestone on the way of improving of our society. After the Second World War, technology became the most important tool of development in a country. Before resuming the exam, knowledge was not respective at all, because it do not have the power changing people's life. This is why the society and science have improved so slowly. After the change, only people study diligent can entering a college, and also high diploma means having a bright future. Chasing wonderful life, people jump into learning and searching of science and technology. In this case, the sphere of society is ameliorated and technology is developing at a faster speed than ever before. The boosting of science and technology has numerously improved the quality of economy.

To sum up, the event of resuming College Entrance Exam has had great effect both on individual and society.
