第十四次作业:

writing(Neighborhood):

Some people say that advertising encourages us to buy things we really do not need. Others say that advertisements tell us about new products that may improve our lives. Which viewpoint do you agree with? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

As the fast development of the society, the ways we get in touch with new products are more effective. With the spreading of TVs, internet, and some other media, new products could become familiar to people in a short period after it produce. On the other hand, we are facing a variety of advertisement and information about the new products. Some one think advertisements destroy their quiet life and encourage them to waste money on useless thing, while others opine that advertising is helpful for them to know more about new products. For me, I agree that advertising encourages us to buy things we really do not need.

All too often we are encouraged by the description of the advertisements, which only are containing advantage of new products. It is transparent that every advertisement is blind to the expense of the products, and only focuses on the function of it. As a customer, we could not neglect the price; however, we are often willing to buy some expensive products without considering more about the price, or even having on time to compare with the expenses and function. In this case, we always waste our money more than need.

Moreover, sometimes we will buy some things that we really do not need with the courage of advertising. This is because the advertisement always portrays the wonderful life we will have once we buy the products. On the other hand, the advertising would also show some people who do not have the products are facing some kinds of dilemmas in their life. All these could give us a misconception that we could lead a wonderful life without the new products. However, in most time, we do not need these things at all. Take an advertising of make-up as an example. A very beautiful pop star advertises for the make-up, telling us how magic the products could be and how beautiful we can be using these. There might be few customs could realize the beauty could not be actually obtained just from make-ups. Most of girls and women may rush into the department and spend money on the new products. But it could not be too long before they realize that they waste money on things useless again.

To sum up, although some new products do improve our lives, most advertising are always encouraging us to buy things we really do not need with the special design of avoiding price and other factors.

Make some restriction about the programs that their children watch

Some programs are not suitable for children to watch. Some are harmful to the growth up of children.

Some programs will last too long time, such as the sitcoms. Watching too much TV could lead some eye diseases. So if the parents restrict the programs, it is indirectly shorten the time children watching TVs by protecting children from absorbing into the TV.

Some one(someone) think advertisements destroy(interrupt更合适,destroy有点过) their quiet life and encourage them to waste money on useless thing(s), while others opine that advertising is helpful for them to know more about new products. (As) For me, I agree that advertising encourages us to buy things we really do not need.

All too often we are encouraged by the description of the advertisements, which only are containing(就用一般时吧) advantage of new products. It is transparent that every advertisement is blind to the expense of the products, and only focuses on the function of it. As a customer, we could not neglect the price; however, we are often willing to buy some expensive products without considering more about the price(你前面说customer不能忽视价格,这里又说不考价钱,是不是看起来有点矛盾?), or even having on time to compare with the expenses and function. In this case, we always waste our money more than need(这里不应该是浪费的钱比需要的多,应该是实际花掉的钱比需要的多,逻辑有点问题).

Moreover, sometimes we will buy some things that we really do not need with the courage(enticement) of advertising. This is because the advertisement always portrays the wonderful life we will have once we buy the products. On the other hand, the advertising would also show some people who do not have the products are(前面已经有个谓语show了,are去掉) facing some kinds of dilemmas in their life. All these could give us a misconception that we could (not) lead a wonderful life without the new products. However, in most time, we do not need these things at all. Take an advertising of make-up as an example. A very beautiful pop star advertises for the make-up, telling us how magic the products could be and how beautiful we can be (after) using these. There might be few customers could realize the beauty could not be actually obtained just from make-ups(这句咋这么多谓语动词啊). Most of(去掉) girls and women may rush into the department and spend money on the new products. But it could not be too long before they realize that they waste money on things useless again.

To sum up, although some new products do improve our lives, most advertising are always encouraging us to buy things we really do not need with the special design of avoiding price and other factors.

看得出来是限时写的,总体来说还是不错的。

但是问题还是比较多的,小错误就不说了(还比较多),主要是感觉中间2段的逻辑不是很好,感觉有点乱。第二段总体来说还行,第三段的例子不好,最好用具体的例子

然后你用词比较随便,比较口语的词汇例如could,thing用得太多,thing可以用product, commodities等代替。还有连副词/短语不够,我觉得连副词/短语很重要,能帮助阅卷者读懂你的文章,也能体现你的思维逻辑。
