The claim points out the importance and values of skepticism in education which I cannot agree with any more, although we should s

To grasp the knowledge more profoundly and thoroughly, it is crucial to prefer the skepticism rather than accepting it passively. It is comfortable for every student just to sit in the classroom and listen to teachers. However, he may forget his duty of studying in the whole period, and what he listens cannot impress him if he doesn’t reflect on it so that after a few days this impression is very likely to diminish at all. The greatest educator, Socrates,  found  this defect of studying passively so that he always motivate his students to think by asking them, as well as requesting questions which both cultivate skepticism of students. It is the same reason that skepticism should be encouraged in our modern education.

One of the greatest goals of education is to cultivate critical thinking habits which should be the most important reason lies in every brilliant progress in almost every realm.
Human development history is fraught with these examples. It is just because of the authority of Aristotle, who nobody dare to challenge before Galileo, the progress in understanding the truth about the speed of moving stuffs didn’t be made until Galileo. For students who will grow up and burden the duty of exploring and creating in all kinds of realms, the skepticism which can bring them courage in putting forward new ideas is necessary since school education.

It is reasonable to cultivate the reasonable and proper skepticism of students; however, we also should be alert to the excessive application of skepticism which only results in aggressive and self-righteous habits. This is especially true when it comes to the elementary and middle school where students are too young to differentiate these two kinds of attitudes. Thus measures should be taken to foster the attitude of respect, confidence as well as cooperation aside from skepticism.

Although excessive preference of skepticism may become an obstacle of cooperating and studying, students can benefit much from skepticism, from learning profoundly and lastingly to gain courage of critical thinking.
