I insofar disagree with the issue that knowing about the past cannot help people to make important decisions today. Even if I accept this argument above-which is still open to doubt, then, yet history can teach us lots of things rather than only one.

One compelling argument is that, currently, history impacts with people’s daily life so deeply in varies of aspects. History plays a fundamental role in establishing mature values, especially in morality. Nowadays, the moral conception of people has become entirely different from that before. Such consequence should be fruit from the development of the society. Also, technology progresses in almost each realm should take source of those inventions or ideas in the past. Those motor vehicle for transportation mainly resulted from the past development, such as airplanes, the inspiration of which should come from Wright Brothers. Thus, history teaches us knowledge referred to almost every aspects just as certain affection on our values.

Given that history teaches us certain thing as stands in the issue, however, in most aspects, facts existing demonstrate that decisions are made on the basis of knowing the history comprehensively.

Decisions of extreme importance cannot lack knowledge on history as a fundamental support. In science realm, up-coming researches mostly base on those former productions Sometimes, without such foundation, development in the very field might be postpone, or even come into halt. Take mathematics for example. The fresh theories always root in those conclusions in the past, even if the simplest and basal algorithm. In accordance, such fresh ones will work on the latter. As well as decisions in science fields, policies formed in any countries should ground on history, such as international environment and the corresponding ones in other country. Without considering the given history, policy of extreme significance would be absent of feasible, which might weaken the whole country.

To some extent, too much knowledge of history limits the vision, which is of little benefit for making decisions, even do harm to them. As the society developing with flying speed, certain conceptions derived from the past knowledge might have been behind the times. In this condition, knowing about such conceptions can be of little help, then we should get rid rather than go on think of them just like a blind. Instead, sometimes, keeping pace with times is quite a sound choice as the circumstance changes. After all, it is wise to ponder in philosophical vision. Considering the Late Qing Dynasty in Chinese history, stuffy and banal notion of the gerentocratic finally lead the dynasty to perdition.

In the final analysis, history teaches us things available, not only for making decisions, but almost all of other aspects. Nevertheless, to make good use of the past, we should cautiously choose the most proper one as the environment changes.
