It is admitted that thereare more and more excellent TV programs of various kinds to watch fromwhat people can learn as much as reading books(第一句读起来感觉不是很通顺,建议用两个句子来表达). Would reading booksbecome less important than it before just for the reason that(for the reason that 建议换为 because )we canstudy from television as well? Maybe not. Reading books is still one ofmain ways to gain knowledge and as important as it once was.
The television programs cover almost allfields of one's(one's 似乎多余了) life and even the outer space, what provide people acomprehensive horizon just like books. Take National Geographic for anexample what has versions of both television program and magazineswhich two has nearly uniform quantity of information. (National Geographic, which has the same version in television program and magazine, that provide nearly uniform quantity of information is a notable example.)The televisionhas not only characterizations, photograph just like books have(have改为get,这样显得不重复), (but掉了)hassound which is hardly provided by books as well. In the(this) level, television programs are some kind as equal as books or even better.(这句这样写好像有些问题,但是我不知道怎么改)Reading books, therefore, is a little less attractive for what somepeople may prefer watching television to reading books. When readingbecome a(an) alternate choice instead of the only way before, it is notunreasonable that its importance is reduced(its importance has be weakened).
In fact, though people can learn as muchby(from) television as they can by reading books, reading still has many advantages that watching(稍显累赘,宜去掉) television lacks of, for what reason(for 与 what reason重复了) it isimportance just like it was.
Firstly, books are books that if a personhas, he can read it and gain the knowledge. But what if a person wouldlike to watch television? There must be at least a television set, supplyof (supply of换为which need表达更清晰)electricity and signal. So what if the person is in Africa? He may does not have enough food , no mention of television set and soon. They still should have the right to study, in what conditionreading is more or less a best and viable choice.
Secondly, television programs are mostlymade by television stations which are commercial organizations(organizations这个词太大了,建议换为 enterprises) andintend to obtain profit, which decides that they are in a popular stylebut hardly be in a professional and profound one that would difficultlybe received by the general. When one would like to study(study多余了) get someinformation about a academic subject, such as archeology, astronomy andso on, watching television is not so(an) advisable in fact.
In addition, books are available to peoplealmost any time when they would like to read, because they areportable. When people are in open space, such as be blocked in theheavy traffic(traffic jam), be waiting somebody,(or) on the plane and so on, in whatcondition(where) television can hardly be taken advantage of(useful).
To sum up, under many circumstances, reading books is still of importance as before. Though people can learnby watching television, books can difficultly be taken place of (books can easy be carried)and beof(be of 宜换为keep) importance just like the old days(s去掉) before(before去掉) in many conditions.
