Issue64"Many people know how to attain success, but few know how to make the best use of it."

I strongly agree with the assertion that many people know how to attain success but few know how to make the best use of it, primarily because this contention accords with the common sense and our everyday experience as human beings. Besides, the pretension of few people who did not know how to make the best use of success urges us to be more careful and work harder to gain more success after our great achievements.

Before attaining success, people tend to have a clear goal and make great efforts to achieve it. A great goal is of great importance for future success. In my observation, there are usually two cursory steps to make achievements. First, set up a goal. We always set the final destination which we are eager to attain finally before we make our first step to the destination. This is no more true than when we encounter a problem because in this situation the goal, one that we look for the perfect solutions for the problem, is spontaneously set up. Then, we try our imagination and talents to fulfill the goal. Always through these procedures, our human beings make great success and push the society to develop.

However, there are few people is not utilize the precious achieved success properly and It is dangerous for people, once having achieved success, to think they have also achieved an ultimate resting place, thus lose their courage, hard work, and perseverance and so forth. To witness this affection of pretension, one need look no further than in the school classroom. We should notice that there are some students are so proud after they attain so-called great success in one examination that they almost always lose the advantage in the next one, even become the last members in the grade roll. What a pity that they did not attain much more process after the former achievements. We should always keep in mind that no matter how great, all successes are fleeting, that if we stand still after we achieve success, we will be sooner or later left behind by others.

Base on the above discussion, in my viewpoint, the correct way to maintain success is that even when we are successful, we should set a still higher goal for the future. Thomas Edison, the great inventor, has set a good example in keeping passions on higher goal and success to urge us to fellow. The voluminous personal papers of Edison reveal that his inventions typically did not spring to life in a flash of pride but evolve slowly from the endless higher goal and hard work. Therefore, in his lifetime, he owed more than one thousand inventions. From these, we could conclude that one should modify his ideas and update his knowledge with the changing social conventions to keep pace with reality and better use of it can help one to stain greater success.

To sum up, we should know how to attain success. What is more important, we should also keep modest and enterprising in face of the one-time success. When we set a still higher goal and maintain passions after our success, we will have more chances to attain the endless success.
