I strongly agree with the speaker that scandals can be useful, no matter in politics, academia or other area's. However, not all of the scandals are beneficial. If the scandals are beyond the limits or operated by the extremes, they are harmful for the citizens.

First of all, I fundamentally believe that, in politics, scandals help to establish the better government. For example, when it comes to voting for the president, every nominate supported by a big company competes each other in various ways including exploding their rival's shortcomings unpleasant characters and experience to edit their scandals. Recently, the vice president Al Gore masked his marriage information. The fact was found when he compete with Bush for the next president, therefore he was accused of being unhonest. Then Bush won his second offer to be the American' president. If someone can not be honest to his people before he works for them, how can the masses trust him in the following years? This scandals lead the citizens to making the right choice for the future of the nation.

Another reason is that, in acadamia, the scandals promote the development of the science and technology. Consider about the scientific research, the scandals that the theory makes scientists more clearly know the true. They should do much more to justify them right or wrong, perspecting deeper. For example, the DNA' twin-screw structure is put forward by James Dewey Watson and Francis Harry Compton Crick. On the other hand, about technology, the scandals also play a critical role in its promoting. For instance, the awful topic on the nuclear weapons is that they bring about the desaster for all human beings, such as bombing. So at present, the UN limits the nuclear arms unlities strictly. The engineers try their best to exploit the harmless nuclear technology.

Nonetheless, not every scandal does good for human beings. If the scandals that tend to obstacle the development and break the social harmony are beyond the limits or operated by the extremes, otherwise, they will cause the misleading and the misunderstanding. Consider about the information about the devil facets of AIDS beyond the true. They mislead the masses to staying away from the AIDS patiens and discriminate them while the patiens are especially needing other's cares. This might result in the societal unstable and delay, or even stop, the new vaccines to be found. Another example is that the issues of the terrorism, which thread the operation of the government. The terrorists who is the extremes product different kinds of untrue saying about the politics, which will cause the people misunderstanding the government, incurring the trouble. This kind of saying is definitely devil.

In a word, to some extent, in the fields of politics and scientific technology, the scandals focus our attention on the problems that promote our society. But whether they are bad or good, it depends on their own limits and who operating them. Scandals are not always beneficial.
