A nation should to have standardization control on its basic education before university. It means let the primary and secondary school students have s series of national curriculums which determined by the Ministry of National Education.
On one hand, This will be conducive to the exchange between people who are belong to one country but different regions. When people from different places have already learned something the same, they would have a more comprehensive knowledge structure than who just learned things about where they live in. In another word, people who accepted same national curriculums must have a intersection of knowledge. So in this way, people do not have to worry about the exchange problems which brings on by geographical variations. Becouse they can find the communication methods from the national courses they’ve learned when they were young. But if there is not any national courses at all, people's thinking will likely long-term limited in the environment around them instead of imagine what the lives are out of their daily life. Then understand others or conmunicate with others would be really hard.
On the other hand, make some provisions about public curriculums by the State also helps the schools which throughout the country to protect and improve the standard of teaching. Maybe it is good to allow schools to determine which academic courses to offer for the schools which have excellent teachers and good teaching standards. With this freedom, they can fully integrate the actual situation to explore the ability of children. But for the schools which did not have enough good teacher or any other teaching conditions, this “freedom” is really a big problem. Because the school’s lever decides the education level it can provide. The more “freedom”, the more they overwhelmed. So a nation need to make a seris of national courses. It is not only to standardize what the students should learn, but also helpful on showing and supervising how schools are practise their education. And this would make children who grown up in different environmen are more likely to receive the same quality of basic education.
And for a further consideration, provide national courses may have a great active role on the whole nation’s long-term stability. Study the same curriculum would let the citizens have a deep cultural identity and sense of belonging to their own country and the nation. This will be conducive to the people who come from different places but belong to the same nation to have a better communication and deeper understanding. People’s Self-identity and pursuit to the same caltrue make them more unitied and more willing to help each other. Otherwise, I mean let different area determine what their shcools to teach, peole might only agree with their own region’s culture, only think about their own region’s interests. In this way, the nation is easily to be split up. So in a long-term thinking, plan some national curriculums is good to enhance the national cohesion of citizens.
