Scandal, a disgraceful event about someone, often involve(involving) their private life, is an eye-catching好 word which often appears in newspapers. Nevertheless, in someone's(àmy) opinion, scandals can not be regarded as something useful for the mere reason that they are good at engaging our attention. (你是观点呢?someone不能代表你。。。)
Admittedly, there sometimes when scandals can shock us and therefore bring some serious problems, which might have been neglect(ed?) or kept unknown for a long time, to public notice. In this sense, scandals can be useful. People often find that the facts exposed by scandals are somewhat astonishing or unbelievable: a respectable officer may turn out to be someone who commit bribery , a good husband may be actually not so faithful to his wife and so forth.[ 不错的句子,就是最好配上点实例,然后把这句作为分析,也许效果更好 ] Upset by all of these, some people might realized that they should try to make some change and do something to prevent the occurrence of similar affairs. If they did, our society would reap a benefit from scandals.
Unfortunately, seldom do the majority people care about the problems behind the scandals, and what they are really interested in is the scandals themselves. Several years ago a history professor at an university in our city was on suspicion of plagiarism. Because of his academic scandal, which ruined his reputation and put an end to his career, he was dismissed and became the topic of people’s ideal chatter. However, his colleagues were only concerned about his miserable suffer and few of they focus on meditating the reasons of his wrongdoing or tried to draw a lesson from it. The reason is simple: the public merely view scandals as nothing but anecdotes which can satisfy their curiosity. Acting on the contention that scandals can easily focus people's attention, editors and journalists always search for scandals, especially those related to celebrities, and bring them to light in order to attract their readers. In spite of the fact that scandal can attract many people to talk about them, they still have no significant value. On the contrary, they divert people's attention from what is really important. { 这段不错,给你提供个学术方面的实例:韩国的那个学术明星黄禹锡(好像这个名字--!)抄袭学术论文。。。}
Moreover, scandals, which A decant man in a novel “ running for Governor” by Mark Twain, who first prided of his good character when was nominated for Governor, ended up with giving up for the reason that he found himself unable to cope with so extraordinarily large number of ridiculous rumors made up by his opponents in order to ruin his fame. Under the circumstances described by the great writer, the ever-increasing scandals served as destructive and underhanded tools used willfully by politicians to struggle with each other for power. Novels, especially those written by prominent writers, are mirrors of our practical life. In this sense, “ running for Governor” reflects the fact that the vicious use of scandals can be misleading and exert detrimental/malignant influence on society.
Sometimes, scandals even confused us and do harm to individuals who involves in scandals as well as our society, if we blindly believe unsubstantiated rumors. A decant man in the novel “ running for Governor” by Mark Twain, who first prided of his good character when was nominated for Governor, ended up with giving up for the reason that he found himself unable to cope with so extraordinarily large number of ridiculous rumors made up by his opponents in order to ruin his fame. Under the circumstances described by the great writer, the ever-increasing scandals served as destructive and underhanded tools used willfully by politicians to struggle with each other for power. Novels, especially those written by prominent writers, are mirrors of our practical life. In the light of this statement, " running for Governor" reflects the fact that the vicious use of scandals can be misleading and exert detrimental influence on society. (这段--!!!跟上面那段好像,如果是同一个例子,起码也换一个说法吧)
For all these analyses, one does not have to go very far to see that scandals can hardly be significant. In spite of the fact that their are attractive than what a speaker say or what a reformer do, they, in most occasions, can not set people thinking but shift people's attention. What is more, some scandals based on nothing can misguide the public and being suffering to individuals whose reputation are unfairly stained.
好惊人的字数,感觉其他几段都满好,就是倒数第二段好像和倒数第三段重复的很多,如果是讨论同一个事例,可以考虑简化。。。 |
