"Education will be truly effective only when it is specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of each student."

1， 首先要定义什么是有效的教育，涉及教育的目的，为了达到这个目的而应有的措施——引出应该针对个人需求和兴趣进行教育，举例陈述个性教育。
2， 但有些东西，必须对受教者进行灌输，比如一些基本常识、知识，这些东西可以使受教者具备基本学习能力，而且在有了广泛的涉猎之后，受教者才会发现自己的兴趣，或是找到适合自己的东西。还有些东西，比如道德观、规范行为举止、是非观等，是受教者必须学习和领悟的，这些也许是与他们的兴趣无关的。empty mind to open mind
3，  承认由于各种因素的限制，针对每个个体的个性化教育可能不现实，但不能由于不现实而否认个性化教育的效用。如果消除各种限制，每个人可以因材受教，各尽其潜力，每一分子都能够充分发挥自己的潜能，那么社会必然得到很有效的发展。

What is the effective education? Should effective education be specifically designed to meet the individual needs and interests of every student? In a sense, I agree with the speaker’s claim that education which is specifically designed to meet individual needs and interests of every unique student can be the most effective, although the method of education may be idealistic.

On the beginning, let’s consider the definition of effective education. Before the definition, we should answer the question: What the purpose of education? It is the purpose of education at any level to develop personality of the individual and the significance of his or her life to himself or herself or to others. In order to well attain the educational purpose, educator should design diverse educational contents and methods to meet different educatees. As Socrates indicated more than two thousand years ago, “genuine education is not inserting the stuffing of information into a person, but rather eliciting knowledge form him; it is drawing out of what is in the mind.” That is to say the effective education should be particularly designed to match every individual need and interest. The outstanding persons often result from the specifically designed education. Maswell, who predicated and tested the existence of electromagnetic wave which is the foundation of telecommunication, was well educated from his father when he was young and published an essay bout drawing a quadratic curve in a journal of loyal society when he was 14 years old. Another example is Steve Jobs, the father of Apple, who dropped out of the university after his first term. But he continued to audit his interesting classes for 18 months, which played a crucial role in his founding and running his own company later. These are cases that illustrate the effectiveness of education matching the educatees’ interests and needs.

Nevertheless, there are several fundamental principals and basic knowledge with which should be inculcate to everyone at early age, such as basic mathematics and one kind of language. It is terrible for the person to live in the world, who are unable to buy anything without knowing any basic mathematic knowledge. And without mastering one kind of language, the person cannot communicate with others and absorb any information received. These fundamental principals and basic knowledge can enable educatees the ability of living and further learning, and after getting in touch with comprehensively fields of knowledge in advance educatees may find their own interests and needs. In addition, there are also some things, such as morality, modesty, equality and other virtue, which should be imparted to everyone while does not closely associated with his or her interest.

Admittedly, considering the a myriad of limiting conditions for the specifically designed education to meet individual interests and needs, such as no sufficient teachers to educate students one on one, it is may just idealistic to educate every student in a specific way that match his or her interest. Although to some extent the way of education may be unrealistic, we cannot deny it is the most effective mean. And educators should try their best to instruct students to find their own interests and needs out, and encourage them to pursue something that really inside of their own heart. If anyone could get the specific education for himself or herself, and make fully talent working out, the whole world will be in more effectively round.

To sum up, the most effective education is to instruct different educatees through diverse methods and content, although some general common sense and basic knowledge should be taught in advance. Specifically designed education aiming at specific individual can stimulate more talent of the individual out, which can bring about a more effective and wonderful society.
