I agree with the speaker that there are some fields of study, to some extent, achieve advance by both insiders’ and outsiders’ efforts. Sometimes, these studies would not progress greatly without outsiders bring their knowledge and experience. However, whether other fields’ information is prerequisite to every realm of study is dubious.

First of all, it should not be neglected that outsiders’ knowledge and experience play an essential role in some fields of study’s achievement. With the quantum leaps of technology, the gaps among subjects are no longer distinctive. For example, researches in microelectronic need knowledge of physics, and biologists have to study chemistry. Moreover, without knowledge of mathematics, economic would not gain any development. Moreover, nowadays, protecting environment is realized by contemporaries, and this project has developed into a certain realm of research. However, this very realm is such a complicate area that it would not achieve progress without several independent subjects’ help, such as meteorology, biology, geology, and the like.

Secondly, though significant achievements of some subjects of study are based on outsiders’ knowledge and experience, not every realm of research need other subjects’ information. During the last decade, one of the most significant events in mathematics realm is that Mr. Andrew Wiles has proved that Fermat’s last theorem is true independently in 1999. When we exclaim at his amazing talent on mathematics, this event also reflects that in this very realm, great achievement might not need outsiders’ help. In fact, maybe other outsiders have no ability to offer any knowledge or experience to Mr. Andrew Wiles except mathematicians. Philosophy is another example. From Aristotle to Plato, philosophy is developed independently. It is such a special subject that only philosophers can help themselves.

What’s more, researchers need to treat outsiders’ knowledge and experience carefully, since their information might not be correct. As far as we know, it is very possible that some research results are basically fault, though they might are glamorous when they are issued. This is why some scientists receive Nobel Price several years after their achievements are published. It would cause unpredictable lost in research if outsiders’ incorrect study results are provided to a certain realm of study. Researchers should do their best to shun this situation, which is what everyone would not like to meet.

In sum, though outsiders’ information is necessary in some subjects, not every field of study needs outsiders’ knowledge and experience to gain a significant achievement, since some special subjects are inherited to develop independently. Moreover, researchers should also check that whether outsiders’ information is authentic.
