Modernization, a kind of evolution which is close related with tradition, rather than conflict with it. When people choose one between them, they cannot avoid encounter the other. Therefore, I strongly disagree with the origin claim and support that the the dreaming way is to seek a balance between them.

Admittedly, modernization can be revolution to the tradition. However, that is not necessarily mean they are incompatible. To illustrate, I would like to take the modernization of Beijing as an example. Suzhou, where held the noble gardens of 13 dynasties in the history of China, is a city with stable and abundant traditions. There is even a joke that do never dismantle a house at will, for it may be a invaluable historic site. At the same time, from the sight of modern business, investors choose it to institute modern industrial garden, because of its ascendant geographical position that it's closely beside Shanghai. Therefore, modernization becomes a inevitable tradition. It requires large amounts of lands to build new factories. Then how to harmonize the two becomes a dilemma to the decision maker. The government eventually determined to remain all the building in the old city zone to develop tourism, as well as transfer a special land in the suburbs to construct new building. This advisable decision not only save the tradition but also promote modernization .

In addition, tradition and modernization have many other close relationships. Firstly, modernization sometimes is based on tradition. Aeronautic, a modern subject, is developed from the traditional physics; Chicago, called the largest base of steel industry nowadays, is also the result of its traditional steel priority. Secondly, tradition usually gets promotion from modernization. For example, transport of contemporaneity accelerate the fast development of traditional tourism; High-tech teaching tools, such as computers and projection sets, boost the advance of traditional teaching in schools.   

Furthermore, we should find a harmony between tradition and modernization. We don't have to choose one between them, in fact, we can choose both of them. As mentioned above, the government of Suzhou not only remains tradition but also hasten modernization. That is a positive example, while some negative examples exists. Modernization in the world has damaged the tradition harmony between nature and human. Actually, what we should have done and should do is to set up a balance - to fell trees in appropriate extends rather than destroy the whole forest, to hunt regularly instead of compelling animals to extinction, and exploit oils abstemiously in place of using them up in present-day.

In conclusion, judging from the reasons mentioned above, we can safely concluded that tradition and modernization are compatible and one must choose them both. What contemporary people should do is to find a harmonious balance between them.
