Issue214
"Society should identify those children who have special talents and abilities and begin training them at an early age so that they can eventually excel in their areas of ability. Otherwise, these talents are likely to remain undeveloped."

Should society identify those children who have special talents and abilities and begin training them at an early age, as the speaker alleges? The speaker claim so, for the reason that he or she believe that these children can eventually excel in their areas of ability. In a sense, I tend to concede that some clever children become outstanding after accepting education at their early age. However, I do not completely side with this statement because the speaker claims the view by overlooking the crucial rule of another issue and unfairly give them a second priority. In my point of view, not any kid can become cleverer after training at early age. An all-side consideration is needed when deciding the precedence.

First of all, every parent who has children have special talents and abilities would like them to become outstanding and let them accept education early. As any parent knows, training talent is a difficult task. But it is a crucial task, because we want our children to be not only health and happy but successful. None of this happens automatically; these are no genetic transmission of virtue. Unless certain innate talents are nurtured and cultivated during the appropriate stage of development, i. e., during early childrenhood, the potential talent will remain dormant according to the theory of developmental psychology. Therefore, I agree that we should attempt to identify and cultivate our children’ talent.

However, the cultivation of talents should be conducted sensitively, other wise the children identified to be talented any feel superior and become complacent. To illustrate this point clearly, we can see that many clever children disappear even if people find they have high IQ when they are young. Why? Some one will prematurely become the tool to splurge to other because of too many admirations from a society. They will loss the freedompleasurefriends, etc.. So no any kid needs to train when they were young.

Furthermore, if we look back at those great scientists, musicians, artists and others that stand out in their specialties, we will find that most of them did not show special talents and abilities when they were young. Ironically, some of them were even graded below average. In order to see this point clearly, let us see this example about Newton the great mathematician and physicist. He laid the foundation of calculus and expanded human understanding of color and light. He also formulated three fundamental laws of mechanics, which lead to the law of gravitation. As the great scientist he was not accepted with schools when he was a child, because they believe he is a stupid boy. Some one’s special talents maybe need training during a long time and they will loss the attention from the society as the author alleges.

To sum up, these is no fixed standard to judge the benefit about training children at their early age. Due to analysis and reasons mentioned with each other to generate an integrated whole and to become more persuasive than any signal one of them, and we may safely arrive at the conclusion that there is no reasons to training children at early age.
