Nowadays, while the high development of society has been bringing us comfortable and convenient lives, it also has been leading to severe social problems, such as wars, unemployment, pollutions, and the like. Apparently, a global university which is designed to engage students in the process of solving these social problems is necessary. However, take various factors into consideration, I have to say that turning this project into reality is not feasible and the aim would not be achieved.

To begin with, asking all nations to cooperate to develop a global university is not feasible. As far as we know, various nations have diverse targets in their development. For example, some countries consider that globalization is harmful to them, while others claim it benefits them a lot. In this circumstance, whether the nations with different values would work together to form a global university, which is a large and complex project, is dubious.

Secondly, it is not sure that whether students from different nations would like to study in a global university, and it is also not sure that whether this method of education would benefit the society. Students who come from various countries own their special culture, value, religion, language, and so on. Asking them to study in same environment and atmosphere means that they would have to compromise to each other. In this way, maybe only a few of them would be fulfilled in the very educational system. In addition, what makes it even worse is that this kind of education would lead to a lack of unique. Students who graduate from the university would be common. A society without unique may lost innovation, creativity, and the like. It is hard to believe that this result would play a positive role in the development of society, let alone solving the most persistent social problems.

What is more, claiming global university graduates would be competent in solving the world's most persistent social problems is not rational. If we evaluate graduates carefully, it is not difficult to find that maybe they are not mature enough to deal with these persistent troubles. The society is so complicate that even the most sophisticate politic leaders can hardly handle these problems smoothly. Therefore, it is not rational to be so confident to our students who just leave the university, though they are best prepared to solve the problems.

In sum, though the development of society has put a large amount of persistent social problems to us and it needs us to process them immediately, constructing a global university is not feasible and reasonable. In addition, maybe our graduates can hardly handle these problems.
