TOPIC: ISSUE83 - "Government should preserve publicly owned wilderness areas in their natural state, even though these areas are often extremely remote and thus accessible to only a few people."
WORDS: 556          TIME: 1:30:04          DATE: 2008-3-1

The author suggests that government should protect public owned wilderness regions in their natural state, where even are remote and accessible to a few people. I strongly agree with him. Not matter how expansive the public wilderness areas, they are parts of the earth and the world where we rely on to live. So preserving the wilderness areas is to protect our home and ourselves.

Publicly owned wilderness areas where growing different kinds trees, flowers and grass, adopting different birds, beasts and insects are not only parts of field on the earth, but also indiscerptible elements of the ecosystem. When these areas are in their natural state, plants and animals exist stably with abundance of oxygen from foliage, called the balance of ecosystem, while most of these areas were destroyed by people, no life left on the field and it is not at least exaggerated that doomsday of human beings were coming. In fact, we have felt some changes of the global wealth which is several degrees warmer than 100 years ago at the same latitude. And there are more and more areas where have been devoured by sands, submerged by sea, and disappeared from the earth by some other natural disaster. Meanwhile, lose of these wilderness areas would destroy the biologic chains which contain all of the life-forms, including human beings, and are continuing circulation which makes every member alive. Without the chains, we have no food, cloths, and circumstance for living. If then, the imagines left to us are a deserted earth like some ones showed in a famous movie, The Day After Tomorrow. Maybe at that time, the last water in the world is the tear of human beings.

Furthermore, the public wilderness regions in their natural state is a beautiful scenery which can allow us to have a break and breath the fresh air to loose our tired nerve, especial business man in cities. It is more other benefits for us that we keep these fields, such as contributions for the scientific research. For example, biologists can discovery some new theory of biological revolution from research the different kinds of plants or animals, some of which are very primary, in these natural wilderness areas.  For another example, geologists can understand what had happened here during the developing of the earth from the land of these fields, and then deduce the developing process of the earth. Besides those benefits, we human beings are not alone on the planet with such many species at least.

In addition, it is not enough that government only preserve publicly owned wilderness areas in their natural state. Because there are too many deserted fields, some of which are probably near the green wilderness areas, we must adopt a set of engineering to meliorate the deserted areas, including planting trees and grass.  Meanwhile, we should appeal all the people in the world to improve our own home with hands. The more the green field recovered the better circumstance and quality of our life we will get.

In sum, it is impossible for us to live without oxygen, water and food in the world. We owe too much to the wilderness areas, no matter remote or void, which is the lung of the earth. For better future of human beings, we should preserve and increase the wilderness areas with government.
