In this argument, by stating the "contributions" of Mr. Charles Schade(CS), the speaker proposes to hire CS as the music director of the entire Saludu school system. Though sounds appealing, the speaker's suggestion is unreasonable due to several reasons, as discussed below.

To begin with, the progress of the Steel City High School (SCHS)'s music education may not be attributable to CS. It's entirely possible that the music teachers' hard work and outstanding teaching skills should responsible for the school band's performance. Perhaps the music education in SCHS has always been very successful, and even before winning the three band competitions, the school band won every year. If so, SC don not deserve the promotion to the director of the Saluda's school system.

Moreover, the speaker provides no evidence to show that the quality of the music rehearsal facilities and musical instruments' improvement is the efforts of CS. Perhaps the improvement results from the increase of the available budget distributed by the town's government. Have the patronages the school received from alumnus and the children's parents increased in the past five years? If so, the school would have more funds to improve the teaching equipments. In short, there is a possibility that CS did not play a vital role in the improvement of the music equipments.

Thirdly, even CS can be responsible to the achievements of the school band and the improvement of the school music instrument, that is not to say CS is competent for the director of the entire Saluda school system. The function of a director of the whole Saluda school is entirely different from that of a school. And it requires different abilities with a school director requires. Moreover, are there more appropriate candidates for this position? Perhaps they would do better than SC as the whole Saluda school system's director.

In sum, the speaker fails to convince me due several flaws he has committed. Before they make the final decision, it is important tor the chairperson to reconsider the SC's ability as a school director and, the competence as the general music education programs for the entire Saluda school system.
