I agree that in many ways there are distinct differences  between people of different time periods. However, basic human nature has not changed over recorded history. Furthermore, studying history carries other equally important benefits as well.
Admittedly, peoples who live in different historical periods have significant differences in terms of cultural mores, customs, values, and ideals . For instance, the ways in which societies have treated women and ethnic minorities have continually advanced over the course of human history. Today women and ethnic minorities have more rights of politics and opportunities of job, which is almost impossible in the past. For human being, understanding of their own and nature has deeply developed as well. people who lived in the nineteenth century had hardly believed and accepted Darwinism in which says human's ancestor is monkey.
However, through the earnest study of human history we learn that basic human nature-our desires and motives, as well as our fears and frailty-has remained constant over recorded time. In all ages, we have never abandoned the pursuit of knowledge. It is demonstrated by the fact from which primitive man make tools from sharp stones animal bones to which we explore space to better understand the world in where we live and acquire the knowledge about the origins of the cosmos. Similarly, our major social ills that spring from human nature are here to stay. For instance, crime and violence have troubled almost every society.
In addition, people can acquire parallelly other important benefits through studying history.Learning about one's cultural heritage fosters a clearly sense of self and cultivates an interest in preserving art, literature, and other cultural artifacts. Learning about the courage and tough will of history's great explorers, leaders and other achievers inspires us to face difficulties and fears in our lives. And learning about the mistakes of past society helps us avoid repeating them. For instance, after World War II, people deeply understand suffering brought by war and pay more attention to the peace and harmonious development of world.
In sum, By studying history we learn that basic human nature has not changed, although there are marked differences between people of various historical periods. Moreover, history has other lessons to offer us as well. It helps us to comprehend the nature of our culture, cultivate informed values and ideals for ourselves, and point out mistakes to avoid.

首先发表个人观点：如果是想把这题当成两个论断反驳的话，前面两段应该是赞同作者的后面观点既不同时期的人十分不同是illusion.后面一段表明反对chief benefit。但是现在按照你的段落分布来看似乎是在赞成一个作者没有提出的论断，因为作者没有说只存在不同没有存在相同。

行文方面，存在一些语法错误，还有就是和我有时犯一个毛病：有时非要把两句话捏一块说，用个and连接，这样的句子感觉没有力度。
