1基本同意作者观点，但是还是有反对的地方
2不同时代的人类的不同：人们的生活方式和条不同了。旧石器和新石器时代的人，只能考打猎为生无法想象现在的。而现在的人在超市直接能够买生活必需品

What is the significant benefit of the study of history? The author claims that the chief effect of studying history is to break down the illusion that people from different time in history are distinct from each other. I agree insofar as the way people live varies from time to time and of course, religious and gender discriminations are significantly marching towards desirable direction. However, in my view, the basic characteristics of human beings almost remain same during the long period of time.

First of all, the way we lead a life now has undergone a breathtaking change and differs significantly from the time when our ancestors lived. The history of human being can trace back into millions years ago. For instance,  people living in the Paleolithic or Neolithic period survived depending on hunting for animals can hardly imagine people nowadays can easily buy food in the supermarket  where provides sufficient daily necessities. Also, compared with the limited social circle of people in the ancient time, people nowadays can benefit a lot from the advanced informative and technological age by communicating with  friends via telephone or internet, no matter how the distance between each other.

What's more, religious and gender discriminations have largely reduced with time passing. Several decades ago, Africans were regarded as slaves, which can be universally acceptable now.  Besides, women and children can enjoy the equal social status as man does in most parts of the world. These are the tremendous changes, if we study the history of human beings.

On the other side, it's not difficult for us to figure out the fact that our basic characteristics and fundamental features have not changed in some context. The fundamental features of human beings including gene, physical appearance and so on, still accord with the law of Darwin Evolution during such an old-age history. In addition, the basic characteristic of a nation remain almost same.  We always use some words which can be described unique characteristics of such nation, for example "romantic " belongs to  French; "diligent" to  Chinese; "forthright " to American, etc. These examples can illustrate the point that people in the different period of time share things in common.

In conclusion, studying history can not only make us have a better understanding of past, but also prevent us from making the mistakes so that we, human beings, can improve and meet unpredictable challenges in the future. Also, studying history can break down the illusion that people in different time are various. At the same time, we make out that we still evolve without huge change.
