TOPIC: ISSUE108 - "In many countries it is now possible to turn on the television and view government at work. Watching these proceedings can help people understand the issues that affect their lives. The more kinds of government proceedings-trials, debates, meetings, etc-that are televised, the more society will benefit."

The speaker shows that the society will benefit from the television programs which broadcast the government proceedings-trials, debates, meetings, etc. I agree with the assertion, for the reason that it not only offers the society an opportunity to understand what the government is pursuing but also, provide s the society with the right of supervision to the government.

The first reason why i essentially agree with the speaker is that it gives the society the opportunity to learn what the government is really doing for the further development of the country. Government always show their next strategic plan for the development of the country on the meeting, such as taxation decision, increase or reduce of bank interest, social security policy, and on forth. Such macroeconomic regulation decisions definitely play a vital role on the people's daily life. For strong example, in terms of business industry, especially their profits will be largely influenced by the vibrate taxation decision. And also,  the stability of bank interest  will bring benefits not only to the public but also to the investors in stock, while sudden reduce of bank interest will cause them lose fortune, which no one is looking forward to. Therefore, by watching meetings of government from television provide the society with a further understanding of government strategy and decision in all dimensions.

Another reason for my fundamental agreement with the assertion is that the society has the right to supervise the actions and decisions adopted by the government and prevent the unwise determinations from happening. There's no denying that some of the determinations taken by the government are lacking in consideration. However, experts in the fields such economy, education and anthropology and so on, may suppose their reasonable suggestions and help the government out after they watched the television broadcasting the government work. On the other side, the officials working in the government organizations will strive for a satisfactory public image in front of the television. Therefore, they decline to be in favor of the public. In addition, televising government activities such as debates, meetings, proceeding-trials are the symbol of democracy. Any citizens can enjoy their own rights to oppose or support the government.

What's more, sometimes watching the debates between government leaders is always an entertainment. They always vie to unveil their competitors' striking things and try their best to defend themselves. Sometimes we can not withhold respect and laughter by their intelligent and eloquent respond. Also, what they delivered and how they behaved in the debates is of importance for the society to choose their own leaders.

In sum, for the improvement of government working quality, it's necessary that the work of the government should be televised. By doing so, the government will be supported by more and more people with its great efforts.

建议作者多考虑一些情况：什么是不能播放的， 就是说在播放government procesures 的时候medium 要起一个select 的作用，比如说我写这篇文章的时候就写道一些针对恐怖袭击等的措施制定会议是不能公布的， 还有一些有些国家机密的会议也是不能公布的， 另外， 我在写完这篇文章后还想到一个升华主题的地方：就是公众对于这些televised programs要时刻保持一个critical thinking, 是否我们国家真的那么民主， 是不是政府在作秀， 否则， 盲目相信电视是不可能促进社会发展的。 至于结尾段我也写的不是很好。 改得不好请多指教~~
