Global university is a fascinating concept considering that the planet we live on has turned into a global village, where we share nonrenewable energy resources, threaten the delicate environment, and of course confront with the same challenges. For the purpose of optimizing the process and accelerating the pace in doing research for solving the world’s most persistent social problems, global university may take the responsibility.

I conceive of there will be a civil school in the global university, which help to research on the pressing problems such as natural disasters happening more frequently. As we all know, a severe earthquake, magnitude of 7.8, hit Chinese Sichuan Province several months ago that killed near 70 thousands people with innumerable houses collapsed. As the catastrophe like earthquake also occasionally threatens Japan, South America, west in the U.S. and other places, up to now, only we can do is struggle to minimize the expense in a disaster. Consider that the students in global university come from different places all over the world with diverse educational perspectives and particular experience, solutions to those problems, such as aseismatic frame for constructions, planning of public utilities in cities and relief system can be multiple. Consequently, each country will have the access to choose a most efficacious design from plenty of proposals provided by the global university. The Indian Ocean Tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, Myanmar Cyclone, different nations face to different disasters have diverse manners to recover while the global university may exert great effort to help.

Another college I conceive of that should be established in the global university is a science school, in which research resources including scientists, apparatus, data, and so forth will be allocated properly. We are gratified to know that certain distribution of research tasks has put into practice. A telling example of them involves the ‘Human Genome Sequencing Project, it is now developing in several nations round the world. Biologists from one country have certain parts of the genome segments to deal with while others will have different segments that are not repetitious, and by approach like that, scientists are released from huge amounts of reduplicate work. Consequently, the pace of using harvest of genome study, in order to treat the disease for human beings, is accelerating. Similarly, other scientific study fields will also gain benefits from the globe university who has the accountability of allocating the research resources like the example above. Moreover, scientific researches are based on a mass of data, which can be shared in the globe university, no matter where the data come from.

Additionally, academy of finance and management is also useful in the globe university. As we find more and more multinational corporations around us, problems like financial crisis, inflation, and shortage of resource, are globalized. Such problems cannot be solved without global cooperation, which a global university may facilitate. Relying on raw materials, labor forces, and equipments, the development of economy expends huge amounts of resources that should be distributed properly, while the global university may play a special role.

Notwithstanding the strong reasons above that support to develop a global university, all the participant nations should pay enough attention on the research goals which may probably be controlled by political or even military groups, who can lead the university to an opposite direction of benefiting humans. The use of nuclear energy in war is a lesson provides a caveat to those who in charge of the research goals in global university.

In conclusion, given that the globalization is developing quickly and humans confront more severe problems, the establishment of a global university is a great idea, which may help us to integrate resources and solve the intractable problems together but with the awareness on the tenet of the university, that is benefit the humans.
