As far as I am concerned, I would definitely agree that new energy will soon replace the old fossil fuels. And there are a couple of reasons to name.

First of all, with the fast development of science and technology, the techniques of utilizing new energy are more mature thus making new energy from sun, wind and water more competent to the old fossil fuels. It is well known that new energy is more efficient than old fossil fuels. Take the solar energy as an example. A decade ago, people were quite worried about the efficiency of solar energy and the practical application. But look at the world right now, many homes are filled with solar energy applications such as solar water heater, solar cell and they are proved to be more efficient. The high efficiency makes the new energy more competent than the old fossil fuels. Therefore, it is normal to realize that old fossil fuels would be replaced by the new energy soon.

Moreover, new energy is shown to be more attractive than the old fossil fuels due to its zero-pollution and sustainable development. The new energy from the sun, wind and water is unlikely to cause any pollution to environment thus arousing great interests from both governors and manufacturers. Nowadays, governors begin to concern more about the environmental pollution the sustainable development for energies. New energy just meets this chance to launch a leap due to its excellent qualities such as zero-pollution, regeneration and so on. Wind energy is just a typical example. Winds, which could be regenerated by the nature, are used to generate electricity without any pollution to the environment. So it is high probable that within several years, new energy could replace the old fossil fuels.

In sum, due to its high efficiency, no pollution and sustainable development, new energy is more likely to replace the old fossil fuels in the future.
