Does study of animals help us to learn human nature?(366 words, in 37 minutes)

Well, in my opinion, on one hand, as peopledo have something in common with animals, the study of animals can help us tolearn certain aspects of human nature. On the other hand, there is some aspectsof human nature to which the study of animals can be of no help.


On one hand, the study of animals can helpus to know certain aspects of human nature especially when it comes to themedical or biological study of human nature. According to Darwin's evolution theory, people evolvedfrom certain kinds of animals thus keep certain parts of their body the same asthat of some animals so the study on the parts that people and animals bothhave can benefit the study of human nature. For example, people inherit a lotof genes from their animal ancestors so scientist could know more about thecharacteristics of human genes such as sequence and chemical make-up throughthe study of some genes from animals. And this is exactly the reason why peoplehave felt extremely worried when the clone experiment conducted on the sheepsucceeded. Because the results of successful experiments can also be applied tohuman beings due to the same gene characteristics people have.


On the other hand, since animals do nothave some advanced aspects of human nature, the study of animals in thesefields is useless in helping to learn human nature. For example, people canexpress their ideas and feelings in abstract terms such as a poem or concreteterms such as a novel. That is to say people use different literature forms toexpress themselves. And scientists use these poems or novels to study thedifferent aspects of human nature. However, animals do not have an efficientlanguage system so it is hard for animals to express them in literature.Obviously, the study of language or literature of animals can provide no helpfor the study of human nature on the same subject.


To sum up, the study of animals can only beuseful for learning human nature in some aspects and when it comes to somecomplex aspects of human nature the study of animals is of no help.
