Agree or disagree: High schools, colleges and universities  should spend less time teaching about general subjects and spend more time teaching about preparing for future career and jobs.(2007.8.25)

It has long been put into qualm in deciding whether our education system should pay more attention to job preparing or general subjects. The statement asserts that high schools, colleges and universities should spend more time teaching about preparing for future career and jobs. Personally, I agree with the statement and I would like to explore several reasons as follow.
The main reason for my propensity to jobs and career preparation is that to find a proper job is one of the ultimate goals for people who are will to receive education. As everyone knows, parents send their children to high schools, colleges and universities in order to improve their capablilty(capability) to seek ideal jobs in the future. However, our education system seems supply insufficient classes to teach the students how to find a good career. As a result, many students do not have an idea of what careers they want to do when they have to confront the socteiy(society). Many of them dissatisfy with their current jobs, meanwhile some of them are jobless for a long time. Thus, the best way to solve such problem is pay more attention to job preparation during school time.  
Another essential reason is that nowadays practice is becoming more and more important than theory. When schools teach about career and jobs preparation, they are connecting the knowledge taught in books with its practical value. Here is an example that can demonstrate this viewpoint, when a teacher is showing his students how to use computer program to make their personal resum(resume), which plays an crucial role in finding a proper job, the students have to draw out their knowledge in mind to achieve such thing. In a word, teaching jobs preparation(preparation) is reasonable.
Admittedly, the significance of general subjects cannot be ignored and belittled. Knowledge of the general subjects plays the basic role in determining a person’s future success. It is like building a skyscraper, the stronger the foundation, the higher the building. In short, consequence of the general subjects must not be neglected.

To sum up, it goes without saying that teaching about preparing for future career and jobs carries more weight than teaching about general subjects.
