Scandals which are all around our daily lives and the world, are thought to be a instrucative media to attract the attentions of citizens. Before we reach the conclusion, we should get the definition of scandal: indignation, chagrin or bewilderment broght about by a flagrant violation of morality, propriety, or religious opinion. In that way, I agree with the opinion that scandals are of great use to different areas.

Firstly, scandal plays a crucial role in the reform of politics and laws. Since scandal reveals the loopholes in the legislation system and reflects the malpractice of the powers of governmental officials, it can effectively avoid the centralization of power and fully  develop the ideas of democracy. As we all know, at the establishment of the United States, they legislated a set of laws to distribute the powers in their nation and allow different departments to supervise each other. But the former President Bill Cliton who was highly publicized accusation that he had a long-term adulterant affairs with Gennifer Flowers, from this concrete example, people learn a lesson that they should reform the present laws in order to fix these kinds of loopholes and enhance the mechanism of supervision. Although it is admitted nobody is utterly good or not, in that case, a more comprehensive  sets of laws are necessary to prevent such situations happen again.

Secondly, in academia area, scandal stirs up the pace of scientists' researches  which benefit the human conquering the uncurable diseases, while restricting those defiance the ethical and moral standards of human beings--human cloning, for instance. Cloning technology devaluates the human life and arouses a serial of social and moral problems. Some one may argues that it is worthy of human cloning to cure Parkinson and other heart diseases, but fortunately stem cell can be obtained in adult fat, blood, bone marrow, umbilical cords and placentas. At the same time, relative law should be legislated to limit the federal funds on supporting cloning researches. In another word, the urgent task  of scientists at present is that accelerating the successful rate of absorption and transplantation to cure diseases, which is benign factor in academic development.

Last but not least, scandal like abortion of minors compels the ethical and moral construction. Most of them are hasty to demonstrate that they have grown up and persist the air of freedom, without  the awareness of responsiblity and right ethic and moral standard. In their mind do what they want is a sign of mature. However, in fact they misunderstand the meaning of freedom and neglect the commitments which should be taken as adults. Face with these kinds of scandals, more action should  be taken such as concern about the abyss of their minds, establish right moral standard from the beginning and explain the responsibility of each citizen. Also provide medical and psychological help to those minors and lend a hand in aid of accomplishing a prospective future which is better than any word of speakers.

Admittedly, scandals sometimes distrast citizens' focus from the advantages, make them not have an overall evaluation and are just waste of time and money. But in most cases, scandals can call for more attentions to problems and benefit to society.

语言太好了！虽然我觉得论证尚有商榷之处。
1，克林顿的事情尚有争议，最好不要举。而且我觉得克林顿的事情于政治体制立法这些没有太大关系，或者说例子不是很贴切，我觉得受贿腐败的例子要好些。

2，学术领域，我估计你是生物或者医学的，我觉得你整段只是举了学术的一个领域的例子，太过于狭隘。还有克隆这个也是有争议，是属于科学于伦理之争，而且就算是违背伦理道德，是否称得上丑闻？我理解的学术丑闻更倾向于：抄袭剽窃造假之类

3，我也才写了这个ISSUE，我更多的是从丑闻的根源分析，从人性来分析，是人性中恶的一面导致丑闻，而一些制度社会的问题，只是丑闻的温床。解决社会问题只能限制丑闻，但决不能根除人类贪婪、欲望这些劣根性。希望我的观点对大家有所帮助。这样才触到一些根本性的东西，深刻进去。

抱歉各位，这两天都没有上网，今天才看到你们的回复。

firstly,你们提的建议看得出都是你们的经验之谈，对于我来说很有启发！

secondly,对于克林顿的例子我的本意是在他作为州长时的不正当行为，也是由于监管机制、以及法律没有对他的行为很好地限制的结果。而且我想跟后面说的调查这些事情将耗费大量的人力物力相呼应，我写的不好所以都没有被看出来。

thirdly,我对于scandal的定义是indignation, chagrin or bewilderment broght about by a flagrant violation of morality, propriety, or religious opinion.而我觉得无论是克隆技术还是未成年人堕胎都是会引起indignation or bewilderment而且是violation of morality。但看了别人的文章，大家大都是以丑闻来定义，所以又觉得有些偏题了！自己也开始不确定是否偏题了！

last but not least, 对于丑闻的根源分析这一点我倒是从来也没有想到过，这样写能显现出递进的层次感，分析的更为深刻。是个很好的建议！让我好好想想再修改一下！
