   Nowadays, with the quickening peace of globalization, people increasingly realize the importance to study the foreign culture and their history. Someone argue that it is the time when we should strengthen the understanding of foreign country and students should take foreign histories into account. Others hold the opposite opinion and believe that we should put our domestic culture and history at the first place, allowing students to value what they own. I support the former idea.
   We should know that globalization means cooperate with other countries to achieve our aims, which are based on better understanding of each other’s cultures and customs. If we don’t get wholly understanding toward our partners, we can’t be sure that the cooperation will be efficient. For example, if you want to do business in China, you must know the background of the Chinese customs, which deems the modesty as the essential character of a person. So you can’t boast yourself, even mention your merits or advantages. What you should stress is your sincerity and honest. If you’re unaware of this, talking about something unacceptable to them, you definitely lose the chance to make a deal. So as students who want to be a successful business man, they must take the lesson which involves alien culture.
    Also, students must mater the histories of other countries. By comparison, they will realize the backwardness and advance in domestic culture. We can’t image all the young men in a country, who take the responsibilities to compete with their counterpart in other countries, know little about their rivals. It is fatal to a nation that the hopes of it, the young men, indulge in their own business, paying no attention to other’s progresses and merits. If it is the truth, then the next generation of it will be losers, pulling their nation to the bottom of backwardness.
    In a word, the awareness of foreign cultures and histories is important. All the students should learn the courses about them as a way to stimulate themselves to dedicate their life to the construction of their nation.
