Laws that control or place limits on people's behavior make the society stable and harmonious. Generally，invisible though the power of laws is, the impact that laws have had on society and modern life are undeniable. Not even do laws regulate behaviors of individuals, but,  they can also reform people' nature to some extent.

Before the first law was drafted, have human being ever questioned why should a law be laid down? We may find the answer tracing from the society at that time, which was shaky and unstable, however，human being always search for harmony and peace even in such turbulence. Laws appear as the need of regulation become increasingly urgent. Laws are realized in the way of restrains and specifications, which，in the long run, will undeniably influence people's nature.

In the long history of human being, laws compelled the advancing of human nature. Legislation enacted laws to force individuals in the society to restrain themselves and develop views adhering to what laws have announced including should and should not. Modern society have become more civilian owing to laws. In ancient times, people can escaped from various responsibilities when laws did not exist. Dueling is a most commonly resolution of controversies among males in the Middle Ages, which the contemporary people and society admit and consider as a symbol of courage and wisdom. However, what the rivals have gambled on(这个把……押作赌注这样说对吗？) is their most precious things, lives. It is undoubtedly not a sagacious means to resolve the problem in the view of humanitarianism. Generally, people today no longer resorted to dueling, while laws entitle individual to gain their belongings more with civility. Laws are fabricated as the human society evolves, which correspondingly help change people's nature from brutality to civility.

In addition, to the modern world, laws have spared no efforts to reform the criminals from the deep inside. The carry out of laws is inevitably a measure to lower the high rate of criminal. One of the laws' positive role is to rouse criminals who has done harm to the society to understand kindness, justice, and peace. The people who have committed a crime may never have an opportunity to attend school and receive standard education so that their world outlook and value systems are not well formed, so the unfortunate things taken place. Laws provide such chances to reform them in hearts which both benefit themselves and the society.

We may never estimate how much laws have impacted the society, but totally, our life is improved and the world is developing with laws’ existence. Because of laws, our heart and mind differentiate from the one 5000 years ago .
