  First of all, what is the purpose for education? Learn the knowledge or learn how to learn? The time in school is limited, maybe 12 years or more. But when we graduate from school, the knowledge we have learned perhaps is not enough, maybe don't fit my job. What can we do? Go back to school and continue to take classes? I don't think that is the only choice. In my opinion, the most important thing for education is to teach students the measures how to learn by themselves, not just the limited knowledge. A successful education is to teach students to be a good learner, not just a good acceptor. Accordingly, it's not necessary to design the special education to meet the individual needs and interests.
  Secondly, humans have many basic skills in common, such as speak, write and so forth. In these areas it's not necessary to be specifically designed (one individual don’t need to have his own language). On the contrary, use the same communication tool will facilitate us for ideas exchange. Some useful knowledge will help students in their whole life. We cannot imagine that a good music composer even cannot write a letter to his of her mother. That is to say, every one needs the essential skills to live in the world besides what they like. Moreover, students should learn much basic knowledge even if they don’t like them at all. To be a qualified citizen, students should learn some basic moral criteria. They should be taught what is right, and what is wrong. Under these circumstances, the compulsory courses seem to be necessary.
  However, at the same time, education also has the responsibility to stimulate students' potential abilities to pursue what they interest. As individuals, everyone has his own hobby. Education is obliged to help students find what they like and let them know how can make their dreams become true. Thus, the optional courses are needed for students to guide their interests. Following teachers' introduction, students may know what is this subject like, why it isn't another form, how to know it well. Through this process, students will make the decision whether come on or alter the course. We always say that “interest is the best teacher”, it indeed that almost all of the successors in the world do what they like. To this extent, interest is a significant elementary for succeed.
  To sum up, the purpose for education is to teach students how to fish, instead of only giving them fish. Hence, education should be composed of compulsory courses and optional courses. In the final analysis, not only the interesting classes should students have, but also some courses students do not interest.
