我的第一篇,希望大家使劲拍。
谢谢
提纲如下:
1. 当内在价值不能为人们所利用和欣赏时,我们不能将其称为具有社会价值。艺术家创造出的作品具有内在价值,但是如果没有评论家的解读和评论,它的内在价值并不能为社会所承认,从这个意义上,我们可以说it is the critic, not the artist, who gives society something of lasting value.
Who gives society something of lasting value, the artist or the critic? People may possiblly support the artist because obviously it is the artist who creates the works of value, but I doubt that. What the artist creates can be regarded as the works' intrinsic value but not the social value when it can not possiblly be understood and accepted by the mass. Since only the critic with plenty of knowledge, experience and insights can help analysing and evaluating the works therefore reveal its value and make it understood by the society as a whole, we can say that it is the critic, not the artist, who gives the SOCIETY something of lasting value.
In the area of art critique, people could be so strongly circumscribed by their limited knowledge and horizon that they can not understand the works with accuracy. Just like without Bole, the man who can tell which is the excellant horse that can run a thousand miles incessantly from many ones in the old famous Chinese story, the excellant horse may not be found and explored, without the critic's insightful comments, many masterpieces today, say Leonardo da Vinci's Mona Lisa Smile and Van Gogh's Sunflower, may be considered as waste papers that no one cares.
Admittedly, it is the artist who contribute much to the development of art by their original creations. In thousands of years, they create numerous pieces of works of diversity. They are the basis of art progress. But on the other hand, the critic actually made the art accepted by many people thus promote its prosperity and development among people of different vocations.
In sum, the critic makes it possible for the public to understand the intrinsic value of the works which is created by the artist thus give the society its lasting value.Only through the efferts of both the artist and the critic, can art progress and become more prosperous.(319 words)
