With the growing concentration of whether the mass shouldput too much emphasis on the role models, the author gives his negate statementwith the explanation that a person should learn to be a independent individualand make their own choices when facing affairs but just follows the models'"lead". In this era, I partly agree with the author's conclusion tosome extent, however, the topic is not that simple than the author's statementand he ignored several potential factors behind this topic and I will revealthese below.
In the first place and to begin with, it is common that therole models play important part in the society especially in the field ofeducation whether the people in the educational institutions or at theemployment. The role models often are the outstanding examples to be given tomotivate the students in each level in the teaching, including primary school, middle school or even in the college. Successful achievements in diverse fieldsgained by these role models or just their great fascination preformed in theirleadership or any other excellent personality or self sacrifice for thenation's advantage are all will be the goals or the examples to the learnersand these positive characteristic involved in the role models will absolutelybenefit to the whole society.
In the second place, we cannot just focus our concentrationon the distinguished persons' achievement, but put more attention on the greatpersonality of them which is the key-point of their success. Many peoplecomplain that the god does not give them the fortune of wisdom, beauty, leadership, riches or genius, but in fact they are just did not treat or toexplore their endowment. Just like the Edison, great inventor of US, says: the 1% percent genius is necessary indeed, but the99% percent of hardworking sprit is the crucial part. Ignoring the backgroundof the role models or we say the background of the success will not lead toindividual advancement.
Nonetheless, the advisement in author's statement is alsosomewhat reasonable and considerable and which is cannot be ignored. Theindividual differences between the role models and the person; the unlike erasthat the models live; the dissimilar social customs and circumstance are allprove that simply copy the role models is impossible and unpractical. We cannotbe "another" and the only way we have is to strive for our own dreambut compare ourselves to the famous person like: I want to be another Plato! The most distinguished person never tried to conquer the others but they justconquer themselves. The independent and realize the disadvantages of us is themost significant ground to improve our self, just to act like those well-knownpersons' - conquer our self and do our best.
