38"In the age of television, reading books is not as important as it once was. People can learn as much by watching television as they can by reading books."
提纲:有保留地反对,读书获取知识还是非常重要的
1. 不可否认,电视有着书本无法比得上的优势
2.但是,读书也有着它独特的优势
3.事实上,看电视和读书可以互相促进学习的。

Although television presents great amount of knowledge and information to people, reading books is not going to be less important than before. Each of the two learning means has their own merits, both of which will play an incredible role in learning.

There is no denying that television helps a lot in study and has its advantages to which books can not be comparable. With the help of advanced science technology, television can provide the most recent information from other places, and even from those remote areas where few people can reach. Without television we would have no ideas about what recently happens around the world. Also, there are myriads of television programs, providing knowledge and information of various areas. With the vivid picture and descriptions, people can learn about great number of knowledge and might find other areas interesting to study.

Nevertheless, reading books has its own merits that television has not. Firstly, reading is a more active study than television education. When reading people play a more active role in reading books for they have to find out what they want to learn and when to learn. However, television programs’ content and broadcast time can not be changed to cater with people. Secondly, books provide much more subjects than television. Considering the audience rating, those television workers only prepare the programs concerning those popular subjects such as dancing or math. Programs about other subjects, like advanced physics, are rarely broadcasted on television. Thirdly, individuals’ pace of thinking and learning will not be the same as the speaker in television. People can stop reading to understand what they have read when they find it is beyond their understanding. But television speakers will not consider this requirement from audience. Thus, reading books owns it advantages, which indicate that books will not be less essential.

Both television and books have their own advantages in learning, and one is not capable to win over the other. In fact, people can take advantage of both methods. On the one hand, as I mentioned above, people can be aware of a new field in which they are interested by watching television, and then they can refer to books to learn more about this field. On the other hand, books sometime are too abstract to understand, and then by watching related television programs people can understand them more easily and more deeply.

On balance, although people can learn about much from television programs, reading books is still an effective way to learn and will never lose its significant position in learning. Actually both of these two ways of learning can be adopted for they can assist each other to help people attain a better understanding.

谢谢拍呀:lol

Although television presents great amount of knowledge and information to people, reading books is not going to be less important than before. Each of the two learning means has their own merits, both of which will play an incredible role in learning. [开头简洁明快,观点清晰:victory:]

There is no denying that television helps a lot in study and has its advantages to which books can not [cannot] be comparable [我觉得前面那个to用的不对,因为compare to是“比喻为”的意思,也许应该改成which books cannot be comparable with]. With the help of advanced science technology, television can provide the most recent information from other places, and even from those remote areas where few people can reach. Without television we would have no ideas about what recently happens around the world. Also, there are myriads of television programs, providing knowledge and information of various areas. With the vivid picture and descriptions, people can learn about great number of knowledge [knowledge可以用great number of形容吗?] and might find other areas interesting to study.

Nevertheless, reading books has its own merits that television has not. Firstly, reading is a more active study than television education. When reading people play a more active role[a more active和上一句一样,最好换个说法]  in reading books [in reading books 和前面的when reading重复] for they have to find out what they want to learn and when to learn. However, television programs’ content and broadcast time can not [cannot] be changed to cater with[to] people. Secondly, books provide much more subjects than television. Considering the audience rating, those television workers [这个词用的似乎有点不恰当] only prepare the programs concerning those popular subjects such as dancing or math.

On the other hand, books sometime are too abstract to understand, and then by watching related television programs people can understand them more easily and more deeply.[这段想得很好]

On balance, although people can learn about[这个about好像多余] much from television programs, reading books is still an effective way to learn and will never lose its significant position in learning. Actually both of these two ways of learning can be adopted for they can assist each other to help people attain a better understanding.

television workers [这个词用的似乎有点不恰当]

我想说节目制定者,或者电视台工作者,不知道怎么说,好像说主持人吧,也不太对
