Are the nonmainstream areas of inquiry as astrology, fortune-telling, and psychic and paranormal addressed by mainstream science? The speaker claims not, for the nonmainstream plays a vital role in society by satisfying human needs. However I concede that the nonmainstream areas do effect in human life that many people need it just for enjoyment, Otherwise in my view, the mainstream science does a more important affection than nonmainstream does.

First and basically in my view, the nonmainstream areas of inquiry plays a role in society that gives people enjoyment in sprit now. In old time, the astrology and fortune-telling stands as understanding in human's mind of nature power, such as a storm, an earth-quack, and fire, etc. And even in modern time, this kind of nonmainstream inquiry is also used to make people know the untouchable field, such as the past and the future. A kind of game is a good example to support my view, Tarot Card, which is used to find a way for a puzzle by compose the meaning of many cards together, the cards which are selected by the people who want to get the key of trouble. It is popular in young groups in many countries and is often played during a trip or in a party to get enjoyment. In conclusion, the nonmainstream now plays a important function in the field of getting fun.

However, as the technology and science developing, the science is taking the place of nonmainstream inquiry and being believed in by people. What the science takes to people is a wonderful life and that make people trust that it is truth that science can explain the world and the nature as time goes by. Take astrology for example, in early time, the reason that people trust the power of the astrology is based on a little knowledge to universal, but now, more and more people trust the theory of relative which is ruled out by Einstein that can be the best explaination of the universal. So the power of mainstream science is accepted by people widely now.

In addition, if people trust the nonmainstream areas of inquiry too much, it will do harm to society and to government. Some people now are less educated for many reasons and in that case they are more easily to believe a theory that is non-science. And that lead to a harmful end to them to make a society in dangerous if he trust a nonmainstream inquiry too much. Take the heresy for example, it is a non-science organization that do harm to nation, even if in a high developed country. The main define of the heresy is anti-human, anti-society and anti-science. So it is harmful for one believe the nonmainstream inquiry to much without any science knowledge.

In sum, the nonmainstream areas of inquiry has done much to human beings in many way, but the importance of mainstream science is more and more recognized by human beings, yet the technology and science will take more advantage to society than nonmainstream inquiry does in the future.
