Current society is the development product of the history. And the same case that modernization come down and innovated from tradition. In our modern society, tradition and modernization are compatible but not incompatible as the title said. There are several reasons as follows.

To begin with, in our current society, most areas of the modernization such as custom, ideology, and religion come down from the tradition. In the thought area, Confucianism influenced most of the current Chinese people for more than 2 thousands years. Socrates, a philosopher in Athens, ancient Greece, asked big questions such as what love is, what truth is and what justice is and so on. He tried to make people think and debate through these questions. These philosophic ideas also come down to the current ideology. On the area of custom, for instance, Chinese spring festival, with more than 2000-year history, is also the most popular custom festival in every Chinese family. Bull game in Spain also played for many years. As religion, the Christianism, Islam, Buddhism which are all born long ago still greatly influence people in current society.

Furthermore, the modernization have evolved and developed as the products compatible with traditional idea and methods on the area such as art, architecture, and music. For instance, Michelangelo's carven method and idea also become the most popular method for current people to study and imitate. Picasso's impressionism and cubism, the most famous art in the world, also attract people to follow. These traditional arts became the most popular mainstream in the area of architecture and art. As music, the classical music and pop music, although oldness as we know, are also enjoy most of us. Thus, modernization in current society is the product of the tradition.

However, some of the tradition may negatively influence our modernization for their wrong idea and thought. For instance, the traditional attitude to women is discrimination which make women live in a danger society without human right and freedom. And discrimination against black people in America also influence the harmony society until Martin Luther King organize people not only white or black people to against it. There are many of such examples can be found in our histories.

Thus, the most important way is to clear our eye to identify the tradition but not to oppose or accept it completely.  As mentioned above, some of the tradition methods and ideas are good for our modernization but some of them are worse. We should come to judge it on the two side attitudes of opposability and acceptability. Some of them should be experienced for many years and whether it is acceptable or not can be shown. For example, many year of experience, we opposed the attitude of discriminate against women and black people.

In summary, tradition and modernization are compatible in our current society, and some of the tradition should be come down from one generation to another, and some of wore tradition should be banned for us.
