题目:ISSUE17 –
"There are two types of laws: just andunjust. Every individual in a society has a responsibility to obey just lawsand, even more importantly, to disobey and resist unjust laws."
Are laws just or unjust? Has every individualin a society need to obey just laws and disobey and resist unjust laws? In myview, whether a law is just or unjust is not a simple issue ,and we should notresist unjust laws even though its not just.
Generally speaking, one, who has differentinterest and belief, has a different viewpoint considering whether law is justor unjust. For instance, in a lawsuit ,one who lost in the lawsuit must believethat law is unjust and the winner in the lawsuit, on the contrary, will thinkthe law as a pretty just law (But its as far as the winner concerned). One whoseregion beliefs is not Islamic would view Islamic law is unjust and, even over-severe.Islamic people ,however, might view their law is just and beneficial to theirsociety and his Islamic world .We usually cannot easily say the law is just orunjust.
On the other hand, citizen should obey the lawwhether it is just or unjust in his or her opinion, which might contribute tothe progress of society. Without obeying of people ,we might face a societywhich would be our of control. Simply put , in china, the traffic ordinance, for example, require that every vehicle in road all go alone the right way. But if one thinks it inconvenient. Thereby disobey the ordinance by driving the caralone the left side, can you imagine the final result of that obedience --thecivil transmission suddenly all take into collapse and no one can move even alittle. Therefore, any law enacted by nation should require the strictly obedienceof every citizen. For that matter, our regular lives and right of civil mightbe smoothly enforced under the law.
Put another way, one should not try todisobey, in spite of the even unjust lawconsidered in one 's opinion. First, to individual, his or her disobedienceusually does not help if all others obey it. Second, the disobedience might jeopardizethe society. Chinese government adjustment in term of the economic situationof process which, in some extent, impact the interest of group of people, therebydisobeying or boycotting it and the result is interfering the destroying theregular order of country and society.
Therefore, in the circumstance, one or groupview the law is unjust, the beneficial action is to inform the legitimate to realizethe fact, and adjust the law step by step. Look no further than north Americaand Asia, nearly no nations maintain the unchanging laws all the time .Or one mightargue that in the political states, whose authority stems for the suppressionof individual freedom ,the law which is under the manipulated by the anarchy is,in the sense, not just. However ,history tells us these nation will eventuallyfall of their own oppressive weight and their law is not what we talk about.
In conclusion, the function of law generallyis to assure the elemental right of citizen and order of society. So citizen ofsociety will try their best to obey it, take advantage of it ,assure self right through it. Thus, we would create abetter society.
