The young, as is often indicated in poems and literature, acts as the emblem of activity and vitality and produce promise and uncertainty of future. There are too many things which seem new and deserving attempt and consequently provoke their interests and curiosity, thus they always represent and guide the trend of contemporary culture.

While comparing with the old, the young preserve an air of freedom and an eternal fresh view of even the dreariest clichés of society. They are always instilled with vigor and energy to explore the already immobilized means of existence--which we take for granted. Although we have viewed it with fresh eye when we are young, those apparent irrational even nonsensical notions would gradually fade as time going by. By nature, the young are instinctively opened to change and adaptation, thus more vulnerable and receptive to new idea. They are generally more motivated to attend to the new trend of cultural evolution, and they are good at absorption and imitation, thus introducing into the continually --though large time intangible--transformation which acts as the ultimate catalyzer of the development of society, whether in the form of  closes, certain conception of living and high-technological innovation.

Furthermore, most of the critical social changes, which are the demarcation of partition between periods, are comes from new ideas and new approaches which are almost the patents of the young. James Watt, as creative young genius, invented the combustible engine and fuelled the industrial revolution which radically transformed the world from an agricultural society into an industrial one. When he went to fix the steam machine, he probably has no idea about how much this repair work would influence the world which actually led to the industrialized way of mass production and beget the modern industry and consequently the modern world as a result. Albert Einstein, the most glorious figure of the 20th century with the immortal theory of relativity of 1905, which dismissed the traditional notion that time and space were absolute concepts, suggesting instead that both time and space vary with circumstances, is the young genius who guide the world more close to  truth and the nature of the physical world. His contribution, however, marked the epoch of a completely new era of physics though it is dismissed when published. Another case in point is the short and glorious life of Galois. Shortly before his death at the age of 21 he hastily wrote down some of his algebraic theories. Fortunately, his work are acknowledged by mathematicians after 50 years, and reputed as the unbelievable gift that God bestowed the human.

However, the young, due to their uncertainty and changeable personality, are generally hard to analyze. Their concentration are dispersed and lack of stable focus, thus analyzing their interests and inclination should keep pace with their taste even a short time lag behind would probably lead to mistranslation and disorientated analyze. Consequently, the analyzing is a somewhat complex issue which though deserve concentration and effort, is hard to reach certain concrete conclusion.

In sum, the trend of the young is representative of the adaptive orientation of the culture, for the young are generally more receptive and subjected to change and are always good at introducing the new into the society thus contributing to its developmental integration. Nonetheless, this kind of analyzing is considerably hard to apply, in light of their changeable and adaptable personalities.
