题目：
"All nations should help support the development of a global university designed to engage students in the process of solving the world's most persistent social problems."

正文：
Not to mention the unrealistic possibility of having such a university built in this complicated political universe, I can't see any meaning in it. I completely disagree with the speaker's opinion with the following reasons.

First of all, it is the governments rather than groups like a global university that wield its influences in the international affairs. The achievements of a global university can only stay in the documentation without the governments’ cooperation to put them into use. We don’t lack the strategies concerning the whole world, but the problem is how to carry them out. For example, everybody know the unimaginable threat the spread of nucleus weapon pose to the humanity, but at the same time every country considers having it as a signal of powerful strength in this world and an effective condition in bargaining with other countries concerning its own sovereign, economic interests. As the biggest international organization, the U.N can not effectively make out some measures and stop the dissemination, let alone a global university.

The second reason for me to disagree with the speaker is that the students from different country are representative of their own interests just like the governments in dealing with international affairs. Admittedly, a chance of studying with different students from various countries with variety of cultural backgrounds, their eyesight is broadened and can have a good master of the cosmopolitan situation and that they will meditate on the problems from a totally different perspective. All this will promote a better practical method. However, while dealing some specific problems, they will probably put their own countries interests on the first place. For example, the Asian countries are serving as a huge manufacturing factory for the whole world. The developed countries set their manufacturing base in these countries instead of in their own countries not only for the cheap labor force but also for the severe environmental pollution. They take away the man-made product, leaving behind vast amount of waste on the land to be recycled or never to be recycled, although they may suffer too a period of time away. I have no reason to be optimistic that the students will move the factories back to their own countries or at least actively minimize the waste at the cost of lesser profit.

In sum, the complicacy of the political situation makes a global university meaningless, and to count on a global university to solve these problems is an act of naivety. Of course, although this is not a good designation, we still should have reasonable confidence on the ability of human being to solve all the dangerous problems. After all, we have only one earth.

看了一下，感觉对题目的回应不够。"most persistent social problems"应该是一个很大的考虑点。
