——正文——
I concede the speaker's assertion that many significant events and trends in history were made possible not by the famous few, but by groups of people whose identities have long been forgotten. However, the very people in many historical events and trends indeed played an important role for the accomplishment of the events.

To begin with, it is indisputable to place much emphasis on the individuals, whose endeavor is the merely factor attributing to the achievement of the historical events and trends. An aptly illustration is Galileo. While everyone at that time believed Aristotle’s theory deeply, it is Galileo, who conducted the famous experiment of Pisa, disproved the assumption of Aristotle that the weightier a substance is, the higher falling velocity it has. In that circumstance, because Aristotle’s ideas are so strong in the public mind that hardly anyone could suspect them, the few like Galileo became valuable for the development of the society in a present view. Therefore, undoubtedly, Galileo has been considered as one of the greatest scientists and gained much respect from the public till now.

Nevertheless, there are still more important events in history made possible rely on the power of a large number of people. For instance, when they were children, most American learned the story of Paul Revere's famous horseback ride to the Massachusetts countryside altering the people that 'the British were colony' during the War of Independence in the USA. In fact, Paul was the only one of the many riders helping deliver the message that night. Consider, without that group of heroes, accomplishing the mission by a single person would become more dangerous, if Paul dead, then the delivery might be failed, which might influence the whole situation of the war. Thus, I strongly agree with the statement that many significant historical events were well done owing to the majority of the people involving.

In spite of the effort of the majority in historical events, the leaders, who are always the key roles of the events, should not be overlooked. When World War 2 fell into deadlock in Europe, the famous saying of Churchill 'never never give up' aroused numerous passionate hearts. Then came the final triumph of Europeans against Germany and Italy. Even though Churchill did not placed himself in the real battlefield, it is the special authority of the leadership that not only the soldiers but also common people restored their confidence for the win. In this case, it is true that the main body of the battle is the whole European people, but leaders like Churchill-the spirit supporter of them-are necessarily crucial.

In the final analysis, unless the historical events was merely made possible by individuals, I concede that they should be placed on much emphasis, otherwise, I agree with the speaker that most significant events in history relied on the power of the groups of people. However, leaders’ influence is also very essential that could not be ignored.

——正文——
I concede the speaker's assertion that many momentous events in history were made possible not by the famous few, but by groups of people whose identities have long been forgotten. However, the very people in many historical events and trends indeed played an important role for the accomplishment of the events. Thereby, my view is both individuals and general people contribute to the significant events in history.

To begin with, it is indisputable to place much emphasis on the individuals, whose endeavor is the merely factor attributing to the achievement of the historical events and trends. An aptly illustration is Galileo. While everyone at that time believed in Aristotle’s theory deeply, it is Galileo that disproved the assumption of Aristotle’s rule that the heavier a substance is, the higher acceleration it has by conducting the famous experiment of Pisa. Given that Aristotle’s idea was so entrenched in the public mind that hardly could anyone suspect them, the few like Galileo became valuable for the development of the society in a present view. Therefore, undoubtedly, Galileo has been considered as one of the greatest scientists and gained much respect from the public till now. In a word, if only individuals accomplish the achievements, emphasizing the famous few in history study is undisputable and necessarily effective.

Nevertheless, there are still more significant events in history made possible rely on the power of a large number of people. For instance, when they were children, most Americans learned the story of Paul Revere's famous horseback ride to the Massachusetts countryside altering the people that 'the British were colony' during the War of Independence in the USA. In fact, Paul was the only one of the many riders helping deliver the message that night. Consider, without that group of heroes, accomplishing the mission by a single person would become more dangerous. If Paul dead, then the delivery might be failed, which might have a negative influence on the whole situation of the war. Thus, I strongly agree with the statement that many significant historical events were well done owing to the majority of the mass involving.

In spite of the effort of the majority in historical events, the leaders, who are always the key roles of the events, should not be overlooked. When World War Two fell into deadlock in Europe, the famous saying of Churchill 'never never give up' aroused numerous passionate hearts. Then came the final triumph of Europeans against Germany and Italy. Even though Churchill did not placed himself on the real battlefield, it is the special authority of the leadership that not only the soldiers but also common people restored their confidence for the wining. In this case, it is true that the principal part of the battle is the whole European people, but leaders like Churchill-the spirit supporter of them-are necessarily crucial.

In the final analysis, unless the historical events was merely made possible by individuals, I concede that they should be placed on much emphasis, otherwise, I recommend that most significant events in history relied on the power of both the groups of people and famous leaders.

Re:Ariel Issue 48

Most odinary people take it for granted that the Quantum Theory was proposed mainly by Albert Einstein
because Einstein was nearly publicized as a mystery scientist whose Relativity is understandable only
to several elites. However, the fact is that Quantum Theory is a delicious fruit of collective efforts by
many famous scientists in corresponding fields such as Max Planck,Ernest Rutherford,Niels Bohr,Erwin Schrodinger and so on.Each of them serves as a indispensable step toward the foundation of the glory
mansion of Quantum Theory!Any miss of these efforts might lead to the delay of such a great scientific
progress!
发点牢骚,呵呵!

Re:Ariel Issue 48--2

同时,第一段我还想到另外一个例子:
Almost as significant as proving the heliocentric solar system was possible, was Copernicus's questioning of the ancient Greek scientists. Ptolemy had bent the facts to fit his preconceived theory and his teachings had been accepted, without question, for centuries. Copernicus, on the other hand, did his best to develop his theory to match observed facts. It was the dawning of modern scientific methods.
这个例子在好多处都可用到!
