In most cases, a wise friend is more important than a humorous one. A friend is somebody you want to be around when you feel like being yourself. We now live in a world that information is accumulated intricately. Sometimes when we get lost in such a complicated world, a wise friend will help us to get rid of troubles.

In general, a wise friend can offer us useful guidance. We make friends with others mostly for sharing both happiness and bad news instead of just for fun. Take the financial crisis for example, when we have to face worse-and- worse personal economic situation, a wise friend may give us useful tips to rebuild our confidence. From a wise friend we can obtain much knowledge that cannot be comprehensively discussed in books----how to perform better on work, how to keep family harmonious, and numerous other things. The most important thing is that a wise friend is not only willing to give us opinions but also willing to share our ideas time to time. In fact sometimes the most exciting ideas are usually born with different thoughts crashing. It is the wise friend that can truly understand the deepest thoughts and spirits of us.

On the other hand, however, all the wit in the world is not in one head. Things might not be always successfully resolved by a wise friend. When we are too tired to work or study, a friend with humor is necessary. This kind of friend does not need to be wise or intelligent, but just to make us pleased and relaxed. The primary reason we stay with him is we never feel boring----a humorous friend is always good at talking jokes and so on. From time to time, we have to unload the heavy burden of live in order to release ourselves, and at these times the humorous friend is the best company.

Anyway, in the long run, I argue that a wise friend is more important than a humorous friend. At least, their wise and intelligence can manage to help us bail out from troubles, as well as to share happiness form the bottom of our hearts. Although a humorous friend can offer us joy and laugh, the friend who can rescue us from crisis and give us guidance can be called the true friend.
