主题：ML10.03.06 In order to solve the problems of the present and the future, people should review the past.


History serves as a mirror for humanbeings, reflecting the past, present as well as the future. Though some thinkthat past do not always gives us the correct answer, in order to do the rightthing and solve the difficulties, people should recall things that happenedwhich tells us the direction.

The directing ability of the past can bebest illustrated by the growth of children. The mantle development of childrenis a process of accumulating experience to learn to avoid a second-timemistake.
I believe everyone has suchexperience at young age that when you try to get the candy box on the top ofthe high shelf, at least for once you might fall down from the desk you stoodon. Oh, it hurts! So, the next time you want to eat candies, you won't get ityourself at the risk of falling down again. Instead you will call you friendswho is taller to get it or just go to friends' home to have candies, as thepast experience warns you that you are too short to reach the high shelf.

Not only children, any smart adult shouldalso reflect seriously on their past success and failure when they face asimilar and severe situation. Take my story of planting flowers for example. Ilike planting flowering in my garden, but seldom did I successfully well cultivatethem to last for two month. With the determination to change, I learned from mygrandparents who could be called experts on planting. Without any surprise Ican cultivate the flower better now because I watered them too much timesbefore. Though this is not my direct past experience, the past rich knowledgeof my grandparents really helps me to make great progress.

In sum, the past is a source of reference,therefore, learning from the past no matter it's a success or a failure leadsto a better present and future.

Agree or disagree? If children want to do well in school, parents should limit the hours of watching TV programs or movies


Parents have always been concerning about children's performance in school and trying to do something to make their children do better（make sure they stay on track 会更地道一些）, such as controlling children's TV time( the time of watching TV)没有小孩的电视时间这么一说. Now it seems that the performance of children in school is determined by their attitude more than how long they spend watching TV. 后面要加一句话给出你的结论，哪怕是复述题目也好，表示你不同意此观点

Granted, it is true that watching TV overly will distract children from their homework and classes. Children are born with the natural desire to play with lively and exciting events. Apart from the basic instinct,衔接词不错 children tend to be attracted and influenced easily by a wide variety and novel style of TV programs. Perhaps limiting their TV time（the hours of watching TV or movies）will make them focus on study, because there are less outside stimuluses(external stimulates) to excite(affect) them.

However, few would deny that(no one can deny this basic fact that) children's attitude are the very thing that determines their performance in school, as it implies whether a child would like to concentrate on what he is studying now or whether on earth(去掉) a children would like to study voluntary. For those who just don't want to study, no matter in certain subjects or study（learning）itself, watching TV is a way in compensation of the absence of learning（这个结论有点不妥，应该是很多娱乐活动作为填补学习的空白，但你可以强调下 看电视不是决定因素）. Even parents may limit the hours, children may not do well as many parents expected as other types of compensation will appear. While（it is apparent that 你后面已经有个尽管了）for those who really enjoy what they learn, they will put their study and interests in the first priority, even though they relax themselves by watching TV.

Further, watching TV will contributes to children's sociability.电视这个物体是没贡献的 Take my sister, grade 4 in primary school, for(as an) example. Her parents only permit her to watch educational programs for 1 hours each day, while most of her classmates know and talk about what popular cartoon is it and who is current super star. Because of sharing no common information with her classmates, she felt isolated both in out-class chat and even in in-class discussions because (and)
other children tend to discuss with who they're familiar with. So it's not hard to imagine that she doesn’t feel happy and perform well in school.

In sum, I believe children's attitude towards study plays a critical role in their school performance, and parents should pay attention to this and cultivate it, rather than limiting the marginal TV time.
