A new report suggests that men and women experience pain very
differently from one another, and that doctors should consider these
differences when prescribing pain medications. When researchers
administered the same dosage of kappa opioids-a painkiller-to 28 men and
20 women who were having their wisdom teeth extracted, the women reported
feeling much less pain than the men, and the easing of pain lasted
considerably longer in women. This research suggests that kappa opioids
should be prescribed for women whenever pain medication is required,
whereas men should be given other kinds of pain medication. In addition,
researchers should reevaluate the effects of all medications on men versus
women.

In the argument, according to one survey about the function of kappa opioids on both women and man, the author points out his conclusion that kappa opioids should be prescribed for women whenever pain medication is needed while other kinds of painkiller should be used on man. However, the result of the report maybe unsound and the suggestion of the author have to be ponder seriously.

To begin with,the argument above is doubted by the fact that women are more shame that men. as we all know, when being discomposed, women perfer to conceal their genuine  feeling, and do not let the beholder to understand whether they are really pain of not. For them, crying loudly in the public is considered to be not cultivated. So, the research should provide more approaches to test whether the women are really suffering serious or not.

Second, the report did not differentiate the inherent structure of men and women, which maybe result in a completely severity of pang in case of extracting wisdom teeth. If women do not feel much pain when extracting wisdom teeth while man are inborn to be painful, we cannot obtain the conclusion that it is the kappa opioids that reduce the feeling of pain. Therefore, the result of the report is not quite persuasive further experiments have to be done.

Even kappa opioids did release the pain of women, it is still not politic to apply this kind of painkiller in other circumstance when painkiller is required because kappa opioids is likely to be not as effective as other kinds of painkiller or even useless. This is similar in case of men. When extracting wisdom teeth, kappa opioids maybe the best one.

In conclusion, the author's conclusion based on the survey between women and men is not cogent because many other possible reasons which can also contribute to the same result are neglected by the author. Before stop using kappa opioids for men and promote kappa opioids to be prescribed for women, further experiment are suggested.
