Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? & H2 B, J' e4 I2 O9 {+ t! u8 K3 u
Some people think children should study and play, other people think children should help with household chores.&
The children are like the morning sunshine that just starts its life. Since 1980s, every urban family is forced to have only one child normally, so the issues about children are becoming even more popular. When asked about how to educate children, some people believe that the foremost thing for them is to play, while others claim that study is more important because a fierce competition might occur when they grow up. There are also some traditional families take household chores as first, especial in the ones having one girl or in the rural families. Actually, I tend to take all threes, but in a necessary order, first play, then study, and household chores as last.
First of all, the childhood is a special age for entertainment. Chasing aroud all day, building a bridge with mud, or even playing with fire... all these games are acceptable for and only for children. We can't imagine that an adult is doing the above-mentioned stuffs. Children should be allowed and even driven to play, because it's their only time to do these crazy things. After they grow up, they won't have much time to play under the modern life pressure. I'm totally convinced that parents and teachers couldn't and shouldn't exploit children's pleasure of playing. However, the parents' job is only to manage the play time in a proper limit.
Secondly, The childhood is the perfect time for human beings to learn things. At this period of life, people are always curious of the world and willing to study. Compared with obtaining knowledge, taking excessive hours to do household chores is definitely a waste of time. In other words, we could do the chores all our lives, but the appropriate time for learning exists only for once. If the children miss this time, the only thing they might do for the rest of their lives is to regret.
To sum it up, helping with household chores sometimes, of course, is a good habit. But it should never take the place of study and play, which are far more important for children. |
