Agree or disagree: Teachers should be paid at least as much as doctors, lawyers or business leaders are paid.
Some vocations such as doctors, lawyers and business leaders are paid for high salaries , while others including teachers are not. From my point of view, this is an unfair phenomenon. At least, teachers should be paid as much as the vocations with high wages above. The reasons are as follows:

First of all, we obtain the knowledge from teachers. Doctors, lawyers are paid so much since people think they solve big problems of their health or daily lives. Business leaders usually get high wages for their capabilities to guide people earn more money. So all their incomes are consider equal with their contributions. But think in this way, do they born with these abilities? Of course not. They get professional knowledge by learning from teachers. It is just what the teachers teach finally transform knowledge into skills for substance. So we should value teachers` work as significant as doctors` and lawyers`. As the consequence, their incomes should be at least in a same level.

Secondly, teachers also commit to promote progress of civilization. In each stage of our student lives, teachers not only teach us professional knowledge but also emphasis the qualities a excellent person should posses. They often narrate famous historical stories in order to show the meaning of honesty, mercy, goodness and cooperation. In addition, they analyze various social events, telling students right and wrong, meanwhile, they affect students by their practical actions. In a word, they play more important role in the promotion of cultural and ethical progress, which is equate with the wealth created by business leaders. Therefore, they should get more rewards from the society.


Thirdly, teachers` work is very toilsome. Cite a physical professor as an example, to transmit latest knowledge and teach the most advanced skill in a certain field, the professor should focus on the academic front as same as a doctor. He also needs to read large numbers of academic articles and do lots of researches in laboratory. His dedication may equate with the doctors ,but his salary is less. In addition, doctors, lawyers serve their customers with fees while teachers often help students without charge. For example, a student who fall the exam may visit the teacher and ask questions about school work, generally, teachers are glad to sacrifice his leisure to solve problems. According to the excess workload , teachers are worth higher wages.

Based on the reasons all above, I strongly support that teachers should be paid at least as much as the doctors, lawyers and business leaders for their outstanding contributions to the society.
