Have you ever choked by shyness during group discussion in class? Have you ever been afraid of learning alone, thinking that no one was in handy to help you or supervise you? Have you ever worried about the incoming unknown future, figuring how you could be loved by God in the crowd? If you did not have such experiences, you would never know how important the self-confidence is in the process of teaching.

To begin with, self-confidence exerts a significant influence upon the journey of students' self-awareness. The primary purpose of education is to foster, assist, and sustain students to find who they are, where their destinies are, and what their values to society. All these missions, without the quality of self-confidence, cannot be accomplished. Only a student be confident to be himself\herself, can he\she begin the journey of self-awareness; only a student be confident to face his\her drawbacks, can he\she be brave enough to find his\her destiny; only a student be confident about the life, can he\she makes differences in society.

Furthermore, self-confidence empowers students to learn the specific knowledge by themselves. In the expansion era of knowledge, information pops up every second or more minor intervals. According to a recent survey conducted by the sociology department of Peking University, the knowledge what we have till 2008 have increased 23 times than that in 1990. Under such condition, how could educators teach the potential specific knowledge during one's school time?However if a person is equipped with the quality of self-confidence, no doubt he\she could conquer this dilemma through finding his\her ways of independent learning, since self-confidence makes the person be optimistic towards every problems occurred in life.

Finally, self-confidence is an indispensable quality in the way of realizing one's dreams. Taking the financial crisis into consideration, the ruthless and relentless competition has accelerated unexampled these couple of years, posing unprecedented pressure upon each and every individuals. Without the self-confidence, how could a person find the confidence in such fierce competitive situation? How could a person stand out in the crowd? And how could a person been loved by opportunities since god only guard these self-confident ones?

Admittedly, the specific knowledge is also of great importance in education. They help students to know the world, to be knowledgeable, and to understand the life in details. However, all these benefits cannot parallel the prolong influences of self-confidence in students' lives. Therefore, I reinforce my standpoint that teachers should pay more attention to try to help students to gain their self-confidence.
