In this highly-developed world, everyone needs more knowledge and experience than before in order to be successful. In this point of view, it is obviously that university students should be required to take basic science classes even they are not part of the field of the study. A basic knowledge of science can give us a better chance to success, a new way to look at problems and a better understanding of other courses.

Nowadays the new technologies derived from the science have been omnipresent that the ability to use them is required in every field of work. Let us take the computer as an example, writers write on the computers; designers use computers to design blueprints; photographers use softwares in computer to modify their pictures; not to mention all the technicians. The science is just everywhere that in order to live in this world, we have to know something about science. Thus, a basic science class is really needed for university students. With the knowledge, we can face the challenges more prepared, fit in the society better and ultimately have greater chance to be successful.

Moreover, after burying ourselves in our own field of the study for such a long time, it is good for us to learn something different. While learning the science, it can give us brand new ideas and new ways of thinking. It provides us a chance to see the world in a different way. Some problems that bother us for a long time may be solved quickly when we try the new method.


Last but not the least, every field of study has an underlying connection with each other, the science knowledge can help us learn our own field better. For example, it is the study of light in physics that makes a great improvement in the paintings during Renaissance; it is Leonardo da Vinci's understanding in physiology that makes the figures in his pictures so naturally. Likewise, the science knowledge can help us do better in our own field of study no matter what the field is.

From what has been discussed above, it is clear that in order to live a better life university students should be required to take basic science classes even though they are not part of the field of the study.
