As long as people in a society are hungry or out of work or lack the basic skills needed to survive, the use of public resources to support the arts is inappropriate-and, perhaps, even cruel-when one considers all the potential uses of such money.
1. 艺术应该被赞助， No matter how affluent a country is, no matter how welfare the society is, the phenomenon of some people suffers hungry and 缺少职业技能 cannot be eradicated.。如果照作者这样说，那我们根本就不需要艺术了，let alone subsidize arts.
2. 艺术有很多好处，1,精神食粮，给苦难中的人们spiritual comfort. 例如For example, The Wenchuan earthquake, 大灾难，The once beautiful scenic spots turned into ashes and ruins, the once crowded streets were no more there with ruins scattered everywhere , and crying could be heard everywhere. 灾区响起了命运Beethoven , The Fifth Symphony . the striking and passionate symphony，鼓舞人们奋斗，rebuild their hometown. 2 物质财富，take Wenchuan earthquake again. After this catastrophe, 政府赞助演出，然后很多明星献歌，最后many people are moved and cannot help to donating money. 艺术也能带来巨大的物质财富。所以政府赞助很必要。 I would be hard pressed to imagine that how terrible it would be if people suffers 精神物质双重折磨。所以赞助艺术，发展艺术，alleviate their pains.
3. 不能过激啊，只管艺术，不顾百姓live in hot water 不对 ， strike a perfect balance.
