Some people say that “the absence of choice is a circumstance that is very, very rare." In my view, though the circumstance of rare choice probably really exist, choices are also numerous around us. Faced with so many choices, what we should do is to prevent from losing ourselves.

Admittedly, there are many situations of rare or even no choice. For one thing, as the limitation of specific conditions, for example, our precursors, probably living in ancient times, had little choice for traveling. If they wanted to visit their friends far away, or if they were willing to enjoy beautiful nature, the only choice for them was going on foot. Taking such measure means wasting a lot of time in vain. For another, as the limitations of specific views, for instance, woman, treated unfair as man, had no choice for their careers, which means the only duty for them was to doing housework and taking care of children, husband, and the olds. Also, as long as married somebody, if woman found that they were not suitable, the only choice for them was to bear and continue such life.

However situations discussed above is less and less. Nowadays, if we want to connect with our friends, many choices could be selected. For example, we can write letters, make phone calls, and even have a talk through internet. And we can choose bus, train, and airplane to visit them face to face. The same goes for the choice of traveling transportation, which means that several transportations can be selected in stead of on foot only. And the idea of gender equality is popularized around the world, which means woman have the same rights and status with man though some woman who are in less developed places are also be discriminated. They can chase their dreams joyfully, they can go for their happiness freely and so forth. Probably, as the words goes “life is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you are going to get" from Forrest Gump, our precursors could have never dreamed such significant changes hundreds years later.

The results of such consequential changes are because of the rapid developing technology and the growing minds. On one hand, After the World War Two, technology, more than ever, has developed rapidly. They way of living for our human beings has changed lot. Thanks to such inventions, we enjoy a more convenient life and have more time to do what we really want. On the other hand, more sound concepts have been shaped. That is to say, our society goes around more validly and reasonably with the completing ideas such as gender equality. Thus, with the development of technology and growing minds, the choices around us are plentiful.

Nowadays, with plentiful choices, actually, we could select some which we need and necessary for us. However, faced with so many choices, many of us can not select good choices and make right decisions. Easily we may fall down with the lure of money and undying lust. That is why the incident of graft and spawned corruption appears frequently. What should we do with the alluring world? In my view, keeping a calm mind and moral constrains are the keys. Namely, we can avoid getting lost with so many choices.

To sum up, with the development of technology and emancipating the minds, we have a lot of choices which probably means a more convenient and better life. Faced with so many choices, what we should do is to select suitable ones and avoid getting lost.
